WHEREAS, The Atohison. Topeka and Santa Fe
Railway Company, a corporation. is now oonstruoting
an interlocking plant at
the Town of Aroadia. County
California.)in aooordanoe

with general plane approved by the Railroad Commiseion
of eaid State. their Deoision No.436l; and
V11lEREAS, in ordur to operate aaid inter10ok-
ing plant and to operate the deraile on the traoks of
the Paoifio Eleotric Company, it is neoessary to in-
etall and hereafter te maintain derail operating ma-
ohines in and upon St. Joseph Avenue, one of the publio
streets or avenues of said town, ~Id at the points in
said Avenue hereinafter mentioned;
Now, Therefore, -
ng IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of
the Town of Areadia. Califonlia, that permission and
a.uthority are hereby granted unto The Atohison. l'opeka
and SS.nta Pe Railliay Company, a eorperation. and to its
suooeseore and aesign e. the right to pla.oe, install and
hereafter to maintain:
(a) A derail operating machine between the ourb
and sidewalk line on the nerth side of St. Joseph Ave-
nue. approximately 450 feet eaet of the present traoks
of The Atohison, Topeka and Uanta Fe Rai1uay Company
(hereinafter, fo r the sake of brevi ty, referred to as
the n Companyn );
(b) A derail operating maohine on the north side
of St. Joseph Avenue, approximately 250 feet west of the
traoks of said Company;
(0) A derail operating maohine on the south side
of St. Joseph Avenue, approxi/llEltely 550 feet weet of
the traoks of said Company:

(d) A derail operating machine on the south side
of St. Joseph Avenue, approximately 250 feet east of
the traoks of said Company;
Each of said operating machines to be plaoed
in a shallow conorete pit, with a oovering or lid, the
top surfaoe of whioh to be flush with the top of the
sidewalk.
BE IT FURTHER ~~SOLVF~, That permission and
authority are hereby granted unto said The Atohison,
Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company, a oorporation,
ite suooessors and assigns, to locate and install and
hereafter to maintain a signal pole in Santa Clara
S~reet. in said town, at a point approximately 450 feet
east of the tracks of said Company, and 6 feet north of
Southern Paoific rail; said signal pole is to take the
p1aoe of the switoh stand which is now looated apprexi-
mately 400 feet east of the tracks of said Company, and
6 feet north of Southern Pacific rail.
