1 A RESOLUTION OF ~~E BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY af
ARCADIA PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A GEI~JRAL ~WNICIPAL ELSCTION
2 IN SAID CITY OF ARCADIA ON THE 12th. DAY OF APRIL, 1920, PROVIDING
FOR THE POLLING PLACE FOR THE HOLDING OF SUCH ELECTI IN, APPOINT-
3 ING THE ELECTION OFFICERS FOR THE SAME AIID FIXING THEIR CO~~ENSA-
TION.

THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO RESOLVE
5 AS FO LLOVlS :
6 That a General Municipal Election be and the sa~e is
7 hereby called to be held in said City of Arcadia on the 12th. day
8 of April, 1920, for the purposes of voting upon that certain pro-
9 position, hereinafter specified, and electing the following of-
10 ficers: to-wit:

1: Two members of the Board of Trustees of said City to
12 hold office for the full term or period of four years from and

13 tel' the 19th. day of April, 1920;
2: Two members of the Board of Trustees of said City to
hold office for the unexpired term or period of two years from and
16 after the 19th. day of April, 1920.

That there shall be submitted to the qualified electors
20 of said City of Arcadia at said General Municipal Election, the
21
question whether the President of said Board of Trustees and as a I
22 member thereof, shall receive as compensation for his services as I
23
such President and member of said Board of Trustees, the sum of
24 $5.00 for each and every meeting of said Board actually attended
25 by him, not exceeding two meetings a month, and whether each of
26 the other members of said Board of Trustees shall receive as com-
27 pensation for his services as such member thereof, the sum of
28 $:3.00 for each and every meeting of said Board actually attended
29 , by him, not exceed ing two meet ings a month.

That the voter at such General Municipal Election shall
31 mark his ballot by stamping a cross (xl opposite the answer he de-
32 sires to give to the question hereinabove specified.

That the polls for said election shall be opened at
6:30 o'clock on the morning of the day of said election and shall
be kept opened until six o'clock in the afternoon of the same day,
when the polls shall be closed, except as provide~ in Section
1164 of the Political Code of the State of California.
Said election shall in all other resp:! cts conform to
the General Election Laws of the State of California, insofar as
the same are applicable to General municipal Elections in Cities
of the Sixth Class.
The polling place for the holding of said Election and
the respective officers of said election are hereby designated and

Inspector: George W. Ackerman.
Judges: (Mrs) Anna P. Grimes, (Mrs) Helen Roth.
Clerks: (Mrs) Martha P. McNeil, (Mrs) Grace J. Newhall.
That the compensation to be paid to each of said Elec-
tion Officers for all services to be by him or her rendered at
such Election shall be and the same is hereby fixed at the sum of
$5.00.

That said Arcadia City Precinct hereinabove named and
referred to is the precinct last established and designated by the
Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, State of Cali-
fornia, for the holding of general elections and that the boundar-
ies of said Arcadia City Precinct are the boundaries of said City
of Arcadia and that said Arcadia City Precinct is coextensive with
the city limits of said City of Arcadia
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution and shall callse the same to be published three times in

the Arcadia Journal, a weekly newspaper published and cir.culated
in said City of Arcadia, and from and after the first publication

thereof, the same shall take effect and be in force.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regluar meet-

ing of the Board of Trustees of the City of Ar~adia, held on the
6 12th. day of March, 1920, by the affirmative vote of at least
7 three Trustees, to -wit :
8 AYES: Trustees Harris, Millard, Taylor and Wheeler.
9 NOES: None.
10 and signed and approved this 12th. day of March, 1920.
