RESOLUTION OF INTEl!Tlml NO. 65.
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF
AROADIA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO I:!PRO'liE A PORTION OF HUliTII:GTOU
2 DRIVE IN SAID CITY OF ARCADIA AND DETERlHND1G THAT SERIAL BONDS
SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF AND FIXING A TItlE AND
3 PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK OR IMPROVEMENT.

4 THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO RE-
SOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the public intere~t and convenience
6 require and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of said
7 City of Arcadia to order the follOWing street TIork and improvement
8
to be done in said City of Aroadia, to-wit:
9
FIRST: That a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width
10 with its inner edge 2.5 feet from the Northerly property line be
11
constructed along the Northerly line of the roadway of said Hunt-
12
ington Drive from the Easterly property line of RIRST AVEIWE to the
13
prolongation Southeasterly of the Southwesterly property line of
14
Indiana Street, including the sidewalk space in the il:terseotion of
15
said Huntingtcn Drive with Indiana street, and also that a cement
16 sidewalk five (5) feet in width with its inner edge 2.5 feet from
17 the Southerlyproperty line be constructed along the Southerly side
18 of the roadway of said Huntington Drive from the Easterly line of
19 FIRST AVENUE to the TIesterly line of SECOND AVENUE extended across
20 said Huntington Drive, and also that a cement side\'lalk be constructe;.

in the sidewalk spaces in the Southeasterly intersection of First
22 Avenue with said Huntington Drive and in the SOuthwesterly inter-
23 section of Second Avenue with said Huntington Drive.

SECOND: That a cement curb (Class nAn) be constructed
25 along the Northerly side of the roadway of said Huntington Drive
26 from the Easterly line of FIRST AV~lUE to a line drawn across said
27 Huntington Drive parallel with and distant ~6~.O feet Easterly from
28 said Easterly line of FIRST AVErWE and also that a cement curb
29 return, (Class "A ,,<) be constructed in the West erly int ersect ion of
30 said Huntington Drive with Indiana street.

THIRD: That a cement curb (Class "A") be constructed
32 along the Southerly line of the roadway of said HUht1ngton Drive

from the E~sterly line of FIRST AVENUE to the TIesterly line of Sec-
ond Avenue extended across said Huntington Drive and also that
cement curb returns (Class "A") be constructed in the Southeasterly
and
intersection of FIRST AVDiUE with said Huntington Drive^in the Soutl~
westerly intersection of Second Avenue with said Huntington Drive.
FOURTH: That five (5) reinforced concrete ornamental
street lighting standards, together with wires, pipes, conduits,
globes, lamps and all accessory fixtures thereto, be installed in
and along the Northerly side of said Huntington Drive from the cen-
ter of the reinforced concrete ornamental street lighting standard
now installed on the Northeasterly corner of the roadway of FIRST
AVKiiTJE and Huntington Drive to a point in the Westerly intersect~on
of the roadway of Indiana Street with said Huntington Drive, said
point being distant 5.0 feet East and 1.0 feet South from the TIest-
erly property corner of Indiana Street and Huntington Drive and
also that six (6) reinforced concrete ornamental street lighting
standards, together with wires, pipes, conduits, globes, lamps amd
all accessory fixtures thereto, be installed in and ~long the South.

Said lighting standards to be installed at the points
and on the lines and grades and at the elevations as shown by Im-
provement Plan No. "C-1IO" therefo;,adopted by Resolution No. 6~
of said Board of Trustees, and on file in the office of the City
Clerk of said City.
SECTION 2: That all the foregoing work sh~ll be done
to the official grade and in accordance with Plans on file in the
office of the City Engineer of said City of Arcadia, designated and
munbered as foll017S: "Improvement Plans Nos. "C-I09", "C-IIO", and
"C-112", and in further accordance \7ith the follOWing Specifica.~1o'lO

namely:
Special Specifications No. "K" for the constructicn
of cerr;ent side~alks.
Special Specifications No. "J" for the construction
of cement curbs, (Class A), (Class B), (Class C).
Special specificatioTls!~o. "G" for the i:nstallation
of ornamental street li~hting standards, wires, conduits and all
accessory fixtures thereto.
SECTION 3: All Improvement Plans referred to in this
Resolution are on file in the office of the City Engir.eer of saiQ
City.
All Special Specifications referred tc in this Res-
olution are on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City.
Said Improvement Plans and Special Specifications are
hereby referred to for a more particular description of said vork
and made a part hereof.
All Streets and Avenues referred to in this Resolu-
tion are public streets and avenues of said City of Arcadia.
SECTION 4: Said Board of Trustees determinesthat
serial bonds shall be issued to represent each assessment of $25.00
or more remainj.ng unpaid for 30 days after the date of the Warrant
or 5 days after the decision of said. Board of Trustees upon an ap-
peal; for the cost of said work or improvement; said serial bonds
shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years from the second
day of January next succeeding the date of said bonds and an even
annual proportion of the principal sum thereof shall be payable
by coupon, on the second day of January of each year after their
date, until the whole is paid and the interest shall be payable
semi-annually by coupon on the second days of January and July re-
spectively, of each year, at the rate of seven (7) per cent per
annum on all sums unpaid until the ~hole of said yrinciyal and in-

SECTION 5: Notice is hereby given that on ~ednesday,
:5 the 19th. day of July, 1922, at the hour of S o'clock, P. ~;. of
4 said day, in the Council Chamber of the Board of Trustees of said
5 City of Arcadia, in the City Hall of said City of Arcadia, any and
6 all persons having any objections to said proposed ~ork or improve-
7 ment may appear before said Board of Trustees and show cause why
8 said proposed improvement should not be carried out in accordance
9 Ylith this Resolution.

SECTICN 6: All the proceedings for the aforesaid
11 improvement and for the issuance of said bonds shall be had and
12 taken under and in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the
Legislature of the State of California, known and desi:~ated as

the nImprovement Act of 1911n, approved April 7, 1911, and of all
15
Acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof.

SECTION 7: The SUperintendent of Streets sh&l1 in;-
mediately post or cause to be posted conspicuously along the line

18 said contemplated work or improvement, Notices of the passage of
19 this Resolution in the manner and form required by law.

SECTION S. The City Clerk shall certify to the pas-
21
sage of this Resolution and shall cause the s~me to be published
twice in The Arcadia Journal, a weekly newspaper published and cir-
22

culated in said City of Aroadia and hereby desi~nated for that pur-
24 pose.

Said Board of Trustees does not deem it advisable that
26
the City Clerk mail copies of IINotice of Improvement n to the ovmers
27
or reputed owners of property liable for the cost of said work or
improvement and the mailing of such notices is hereby dispensed ~ith
