HomeMy WebLinkAbout2212 RESOLUTION NO.2212 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, CLASSIFYING SPECIALIZED SWIMMING POOLS ASA USE PERMISSIBLE IN ZONE C-2 UNDER SPECIFIED CONFITIONS. WHEREAS, Stuart King proposes to construct, maintain and operate within the City of Arcadia a school for swimming instruction, with specially designed swimming pool~ dressing rooms, sanitary ac- commodations and incidental facilities; and WHEREAS, such a business is not specifically mentioned or generally described in the uses permitted in any zone in the City of Arcadia under Ordinance No.760 of the City of Arcadia; and WHEREAS, Section ,15 of Ordinance No.760 provides that if any "Use" is for any reason omitted from the lists of those specified as permissible in each of the various zones, it shall be the duty of the City Planning Commission to ascertain all pertinent facts con- cerning said use, and by resolution of record set forth its findings and the reasons thereof, and such findings and resolutions shall be referred to the City Council, and if appro~ed by the City Council, thereafter such interpretation shall govern; and WHEREAS, the City Planning ~ommission has fully considered the matter and finds that it is advisable and necessary that such business be classified; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Arcadia does hereby find, determine and resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That the business of maintaining and operating a school for swimming instruction, including a swimming pool specially designed for such purpose, dressing rooms, sanitary accommodations and facilities incidental thereto, and the giving of swimming, ,diving, life saving and other similar instructions thereat, shall be classified as a use permissible in Zone C-2 under Section 9 of Ordinance No.76o pf the City of Arcadia, provided that automobile parking space equivalent to one parking space for each eighty (80) square feet of swimming pool area be provided on the same lot or contiguous thereto, and improved as provided in Section 15 of Ordinance No.760. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. -1- I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia hela on the 5th day of February 1952, by the affirmative vote of at least three 6ouncilmen, to-wit: AYES: Councilmen Kennett, Klomp, Nottingham, Schmocker and Sullivan NOES: None ABSENT: None of Arcadia SIGNED AND APPROVED this 5th day of February, 1952. \1t'~fl {!
