A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DScLARING ITS INTENTION TO J
FOR}! A LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT, WHICH
DISTRICT IS TO PAY A PORTION OF THE COST AND EXPENSES
FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERAtion OF A STREET LIGHT-
ING SYSTEM ON ALTA OAKS DRIVE AND ON A PORTION OF
WILSON AVENUE IN SAID CITY, AND FIXING A TIME AND
PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO THE FORMATION OF
SAID DISTRICT OR TO THE EXTENT THEREOF.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY EIND,
DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenlence require
and that it Is the intention of the Clty Council of the City of
Arcadia to form a lighting malntenance district to be known as
Lighting Maintenance Dlstrict No.4, for the purpose of assessing
said dlstrlct to pay a portion of the cost and expenses of maintaln-
ing and operating a street lightin~ xystem consisting of fourteen
(14) steel poles, equipped with a mast arm and an enclosed type
lumina.ire, connected wlth a single overhead conductor. Each
luminalre will contain one 2500 lumen street serles lamp, and wlll
burn on an all-night basis.
SECTION 2. The Item of expense of malntenance and operation of
the sa.id lightlng system to be furnished and to be assessed in part
against the lands withln the district, (excluslve of improvements),
are electrlc power, repairs, replacements, labor, materlals, engineer-
lng, printlng and advertlsing. The estlmated amount of electric power
necessary for sald system for each year is Seven Thousand, Seven
Hundred and Slxty-two (7,762) Kilowatt hours and the estlmated cost.
of sald electrlc power for the first year of maintenance and operation
is the sum of one hundred and thlrty-pne dollars and four cents
($131.04) and that the estlmated cost of all other Items of main-
tenance and operatlon of said system fDr the first year is the sum
of Four Hundred and Forty-Nine Dollars and Seven Cents ($449.07).
SECTION ~. That the sald contemplated maintenance and operatlon
of said lighting system in the opinlon of the City Councl1 of the
City of Arcadla is of more than local or ordinary publlc benefit and
said City Councl1 hereby makes the expense of said maintenance and
operatlon, exclusive of the amount to be pald by said City as stated
in Sectlon 5 hereof, chargeable upon a district, which dlstrlct sald

City Council hereby declares to be the dlstrict beneflted by sald
maintenance and operation and to be assessed to pay the cost and
expenses thereof; which distrlct shall include all the lots in Tract
No.15285.
A plat or map of sald Dlstrict indicating by a boundary
line the extent of the lands included in the proposed Distrlct was
approved and adopted by Resolution No. 2205 of,the City Council
of sald C~ty pf Arcadia, and Is on file In the office of the City
Clerk of the Clty of Arcadla. Reference is hereby made to sald
plat or map for further, full and complete description of sald
Lighting Malntenance Dlstrlct No.4 and said map so &n file shall
govern for all detal1s as to the extent of such dlstrict.
SECTION 4. That said maintenance and operatlon shall be
furnlshed for sald system for a perlod of five years from the date
of the formation of ~ald district.
SECTION 5. The Clty Councl1 of the Clty of Arcadia
hereby orders that flfty percent (50%) of the total maintenance and
operatlon cost and expenses of sald system be paid out of the treasury
of sald City from the general fund of said City.
SECTION 6. Notice Is hereby glven that on TUeStlFlY
the 20th day of May , 1952, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M.
of sald day, In the Council Chambers ofsald City Councl1 of said
Clty of Arcadla, In the Clty, Hall of sald Clty, any and all persons
owning land or having any interest in lands wlthin the district
liable to be assessed for the expenses of said malntenance and oper-
ation of any portlon thereof, may be heard and any of sald persons
may present any objectlons that they may have by protest.
SECTION 7. All the proceedings for the aforesald maln-
tenance and operatlon of said systom shall be had and taken under
and in accordance wlth the provlsions of an act of the Legislature
of the State of Callfornia known and designated as the Munlcipal
Llghtlng Malntenance District Act of 1927, belng Dlvislon 14, Part
3 of the Streets and Hlghways Code of the State of Callfornla.
SECTmDN 8. The Superintendent of Streets sball post or

cause to be posted, copies of this resolution headed '~otice of
Formation of Lighting Malntenance Distrlct" along with all open
, streets within said district 11ab1e to be assessed, in the manner and
form required by law.
The Clty Clerk shall cause thls Resolutlon to be published
twlce, the first pUb1icatlon to be at least twenty (20) days before
the date of the hearing set forth.
SECTION 9. I HEREBY CERTIFY, that the foregoing Resolutlon
was adopted at a regular meeting of the Oity Council of the Clty of
Arcadia, held on the
