RESOLUTION NO.2242
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AND GRANTING
A ZONE VARIANCE TO PERMIT THE USE OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN SAID CITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF POULTRY
SLAUGHTER UPON SPECIFIED CONDITIONS.
WHEREAS, ~pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No.760 of
the City of Arcadia adopted May 3, 1949, the Planning Collllll1ssion
of said Cl ty bas consldered the verifled appl1ca tion of Herbert
Kalllwoda as owner requesting zone variance on the follovlng
descrlbed property in the City of Arcadia, to-wit:
The East 38 feet of the West 351 feet (measured at rlght
angles to the West line'of said lot) of that part of Lot
69, Santa Anita Colony, lying southwest of Las Tunas Drive,
as sbown on map reoorded in Book 42, Page 87, Miscellaneous
Records of Los Angeles County, ,
to permit tbe slaughter and dressing of poul try upon tbe above
described property in' connection wlth the retail sale of dressed
poultry upon tbe premises adjacent thereto; and
WHEREAS, after notice required by Ordinance No.76o, a public
hearing on tbe matter was held before this Commission on tbe 8th
day of April, 1952, and all interested parties were given a full
opportuni ty to be beard; and
WHEREAS, sald City Pl~n1ng Commisslon acting in an advisory
capaclty to the City Councll bas made Its findings and recommendations
thereon under its certaln Resolution No.66 entltled: "A Resolutlon
of tbe Clty Planning Collllll1ssion of the Clty of Arcadia, California,
recommending tbe granting ofa Var.hnce to Permit the Slaughter Of
Poultry in Conneotion with the Business of Retail Sale of D~essed
Poultry upon Specified Condltions.", a true copy of whlcb is
attacbed bereto and made a part bereof by reference the same as if
berein fully set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of tbe City of Arcadia does
bereby find, determine and resolve as follows:

SECTION 1. Tbatthe findings of the City Planning Commission as
set forth in their said Resolution No.66 be and the same are here-
by accepted and approved and made the findings of this Clty Councll
the same as if herein set forth in full; and that the recommendatlons

of the City Planning Commission as set forth in their sald Re-
solution No.66 are hereby accepted and that the aforesaid petition
for variance be and the same is hereby granted on the following
terms and SUbject to the following conditlons and restrictions, to-wit:
A. That all poultry be slaughtered and dressed immedlately
upon its arrival at the locatlon.
B. That no poultry be slaughtered and dressed except that
whlch is to be sold in the conduct of the retall dressed poultry
business on the premises immedlately adjacent thereto.
C. That sald variance bellmited to a period of three (3) years.
D. That no 11ve poultry be kept on sald premises.
E. That all- ordlnances and regulations of the City of
Arcadla referring to the slaughter and dre~sing of poultry be at
all times strictly complied with.
F. That each of the foregolng conditlons shall be inter-
dependent each upon the other; the v10lation of anyone or more
of sald conditions shall constltute grounds for the immediate
cancellatlon of the varlance hereby reaommended.
SECTION 2. The Clty Clerk shall certlfy to the adoptlon
of this Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meetlng of the Cl ty Couilcil of the City of Arcadia
held on the 20thday of May 1952, by the afflrmative vote
of at least three Councilmen, to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen Do'W, Hul se and ~chmocker
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmen Kennett and Nottlngham
