A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOS-
ED !.NNEXATION OF C:!mTAIN TERRITORY ADJACENT pJlJD

OF ARCADIA, THE SAME 3EING SITUATED NEAR THE NOlRTR
i-lEST PORTION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, Ai'fD AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO.2224.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
WREREAS, pursuant to the "Annexl3.tion of Uninhabited Territory
Act of 1939:, as amended, the City Council.of the City of Arcadia,
on its own mc~ion, does hereby initiate proceedings for the
annexation to the City of Arcadia o~ certain tminhabited territory
contiguous with and adjacent to the City limits of the City of
Arcad~~ ond near the Northwesterly portion of the City of Arcadia
in the County of tos Angeles, state of Ca1ifornlu, more part~cularly
described as follows:
A portion of the County of Los Angeles, ste.te of
California, comprlsing the right of way of Foothill
Boulevard between the East line of Baldwin Avenue end
the West line of Second Avenue, being all the territory
included within the following described exterior boundary
line:
Beginning at an angle point in the boundary line of the
City of Arcadia, as now establlshed; said point beins
the intersection of the north line of Foothill Boulevard,
80 feet in width, with the east line of Baldwln Avenue,
60 feet in width; thence easterly along the boundary
line of the City of Arcadia and follOWing its varlous
courses to an angle point in said boundary at the west
line of Second Avenue; thence south along said boundary
line 50 feet to an angle point; thence west along said
boundary line to Its intersection with the southerly pro-
longation of the east llne of Baldwin Avenue, 60 feet
in width; thence northerly along said prolongation to
the point of b~ginning;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arcadia desires to
annex said uninhabited territory for the reason that all property
contiguous to and adjacent to said property is already within the
City of Arcadia, the efficient enforcement of law and order, and
particularly the enforcement of local Ordinances of the City of
Arcadia requlres the annexation of sald territory, and the an-
nexation thereof will promote and insure the harmonious development
and use of the entir~rea adjacent thereto; and,
WHEREAS, the proposal for the '-annexation of said terti tory

upon to the proponents by the Boundary Cowuission of the County
of Los Angeles w!th respect to the definiteness and certainty
of the proposed boundaries pursuant to Section 35002 of the Govern-
ment Code of the State of California; and,
WHEREAS, said territory is uninhabited and is contiguous
to the City of Arcadia and is not a part of any other municipal
corporation; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to re-publish and to give notice
of the proposed annexation pursuant, to the Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939, as amended;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Arcadla, that pursuant to the "Annexation of Unlnhabited
Territory Act of 1939", as amended, the City Council of the City of
Arcadia does hereby give notice of sald proposed annexation; that
said territory shall be and the same is hereby designated for
identification purposes as "Foothill Boulevard Anl1exatlon No.1.".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Arcadia hereby gives notice of and fixes the 24th day of June,
1952, at the hour of 8:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the Clty
Hall of the City of Arcadia, 240 W. Huntlngton Drive, Arcadia,
Callfornia, as the day, hour and place llhen and where any person
owning real property within such territory so proposed to be annex-
ed having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear be-
fore the Clty Councll of the Clty of Arcadla and show cause why
such territory shall not be annexed.
The City Clerk of the Clty of Arcadia shall certify to the ad-
optlon of thls Resolution, and shall cause a copy hereof to be publlshed at
least twice, but not oftener than once a week in the Arcadia Bulletin, a
newspaper of gene~al circulatlon published in the Clty of Arcadla, and
also in a newspaper of general clrculation published outside of the
City of Arcadia but in the County of Los Angeles, sald publication
to be complete at least twenty days prior to the date set for the
hee.ring; and the Clty Clerk she.ll also cause wrltten notlce of
such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land

wlthln the terrltoryproposed to be annexed Is assessed in the
last equalized County, assessment roll available on the date the
proceedings were inltlated, at the address shown on said asse8S~
ment roll or as known to said Clty Clerk, and to any person who
has filed his name and address and the deslgnatlon of the lands
in which he has any interest,elthe~ legal or equitable, with
said City Clerk, and to the Board of SuperVisors of the County of
Los Angeles, all as provided in Section 35311 of the Government
Code of the State of California.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that Resolution No.2224 adopted March 18,
1952, be and the same is hereby amended accordingly.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia
held on the 20th day of May, 1952, by the affirmative vote of at
