A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING REVISED WAGE GUIDE, ASSIGNING SCHEDUlE
NUMBERS TO THE VARIOUS POOITIONS IN THE CITY EMPIJJY AND.
ESTABUSHING 1IINIMDM AND I.!AYTl.!I1M COMPENSATIONS FOR sum

AND THEm RESPECTIVE POSITIONS, SCHEDULE NUMBERS, RATE
CLASSIFICATIONS AND COMPENSATIONS AS OF JANUARY 1, 19,1.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE,
DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLla'lS I
SECTION 1. THAT, wage surveys of the compensation of the employees
of the City of Arcadia having been made and the findings therein made having
been duJ;r considered by the City Council, pursuant to which minimwn and

time re-adjuated t.o meet rising costa of living, it is nOlI' advisable to re-

SECTIOII 4. Additional compensation at the rate of $10.00 per month
shall be paid to each City Employee during each month that he is assigned duties
invol v1ng exceptional hazards, sk1.1.ls or inconveniences not COIlllllOI1 to all members
occupying the SaIle or similar position, such as the riding of motorcycles, opera-
tion of street svreepers, painting work, carpentry work, operation of electric
SlllrS, or being in charge of other employees. As of January 1, 1951, the employees
listed in ColU11111 1 hereinbelow shall receive said added compensation in addition
to their regular compensation by reason of the work or duties descr:!bed in

SECTION 5. Neithlr the confirmation of any of the foregoing employeels
positions, skills, rate classifications or specitied compensation nor anything
else contained in this Resolution shall authorize or requirement p~nt of any
compensation for services not actually rendered, nor preclude or prevent the
City of Arcadia or any proper officer or body thereof f'rom removing, suspending,
hiring, promotulg or transfermg any of said employees or any other person, in
accordance with the ordinances, rules or regulations of the City of Arcadia.
No recital in the foregoing Resolution shall confer any status upon any individual
not already acquired by such individual heretofore, it being the sole intent and
purpose of the foregoing to adopt a revised wage schedule for the City of ArCadia,
to translate all, prior salary rates and cost of living adjustments into such
revised wage scale and to itemize and recapitulate all the inf'ormation hereinabove
conta:lned. Nor error in any of the foregoing Resolution shall confer any r:i8hts
whatsoever upon any person in whose ftr:'1or such error was 1IlIde.
SECTION 6. All prior cost of living adjustments heretofore authoriaed
for the mont.h1y" employees and department heads, including the radio technician
htr:'1e been hereinabove translated into total monthly salaries. The 12% cost of
living adjustment heretofore authorized for crossing guards has been translated

into an increased hourly rate, and as thus increased shall continue to relIlldn
in effect until subsequently changed. Unless otherwise expressly specified in
the authorization of employment, the wage of temporary hourly employees shall
be ninety-five ,:ents (95t) per hour. All former resolutiOllB affecting the same
subject matter are hereby amended insofar as they IlllV be in conflict herewith.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.
I HERFJlY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at an
adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of ArCadia, held on
the 22nd da,y of December, 1950, by the affirmative vote of at least three
Councilmen, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Kennett, Klomp, Schmocker and Sullivan
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman Nottingham
