HomeMy WebLinkAbout2104 RESOLUTION NO. 2104 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AND GRANTING A ZONE VARIANCE TO PERMIT THE CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF A PUBLIC SCHOOL UPON CERTAIN PROPERTY IN SAID CITY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 760 of the City of Arcadia, adopted May 3, 1949, the Planning Commission of said City did on its own motion initiate proceedings for the granting of a variance to permit the construction and operation of a public school on the following described property to wit: A part of Lot 6, Tract No. 949, as shown on map recorded in Book 17, page 13 of Maps, records of Los Angeles County, des- cribed as follows: Beginning at the Northwest corner of Lot 12, Tract No. 15960, as shown on map recorded in Book 354, pages 9 and 10 of Maps, records of said County; thence S 890 06' 50R W along the Southerly line of Tract No. 14428 and Tract No. 15928 429.40 feet to the West line of said Lot 6; thence S 00 53' lOR E thereon 194.69 feet; thence N 890 06' 50R E to the West line of De Anza Place, (formerly Hazel Court): thence Northerly thereon and along the West line of said Lot 12 to the point of beginning, being a parcel of land extending from De Anza Place to Michil1inda Avenue, and WHEREAS, as required by said Ordinance No. 760 a public hearing on the matter was held by said Commission on the 21st day of December, 1950, at which time all persons interested were given full opportunity to be heard, and WHEREAS, after due consideration of the matter the Plan- ning Commission of said City acting in an advisory capacity to the -1- n~~:;..r.D city Council has made its findings and recommendations thereon under its certain Resolution No. 37 entitled, "A Resolution of the City Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia, California, recommending the granting of a zone variance affecting certain real property located in said City to permit the construction and operation of a public school thereon", a true copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference the same as if hereinagain fully set forth. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council does hereby find, determine and resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That the findings of the City Planning Commis- sion as set forth in their said Resolution No. 37 be and the same are hereby adopted and made the findings of the City Council, the same as if hereinagsln specifically set forth in full; that the recommenda- tions of the City Planning Commission as set forth in their said Resolution No. 37 are hereby approved in full; that a variance to permit the property hereinabove described to be used for the construc- tion and operation of a public school be and the same is hereby granted and approved. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at an adjourned regular meeting held on the 22nd day of December, 1950, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Kennett, Klomp, Scbmocker and Sullivan NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Nottingham a SIGNED AND' APPROVED this 22nd , da, "f1:a..
