HomeMy WebLinkAbout2116 RESOLUTION NO. 2116 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, APPROVING AND GRANTING THE EXTENSION OF A :~ONE VARIANCE AFFECTING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN SAID CITY TO PERMIT THE CONTINUED MAINTENANCE THEREON OF AN EQUIPMENT RENTAL BUSINESS. >THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 760 of the City of Arcadia, adopted May 3, 1949, the Planning Commission of said City has considered the verified applieation of Equip Rent Co. by Harry B. Fox, as lessee, for an extension of the variance heretofore granted by the City Council by its Resolution No. 2002 passed, approved and adopted the 7th day of March, 1950, affecting the following described property in the City of Arcadia, to-wit: The westerly 75 ft. of that portion of Lot 69 of Santa Anita Colony as per map recorded in Book 42 Page 87, Miscellaneous Records. Beginning at t..l1.e intersection of the '.Vesterly line of said Lot with a line parallel with and 50 feet Southerly measured at right angles from the Northerly line of said lot; thence Easterly, along said parallel line 0.01 feet to the beginning of a curve, concave to the South, having a radius of 450 feet and being tangent to said parallel line; thence Easterly along said curve a distance of 109.96 feet to the end of same; thence Southeasterly along a line tangent to said curve 379.66 feet to the beginning of a curve concave to the west, having a radius of 25 feet and being tangent; to said last mentioned line; thence Southerly along said last mentioned curve 68.52 feet to the end of same; thence westerly along a line parallel with and 50 feet Northerly, measured at right angles from the Southerly line of said lot, and being tangent to said last mentioned curve 481.07 feet, more or less to the Westerly line of said Lot; thence Northerly along said ~esterly line 229.17 feet more or less to the point of beginning, of permit the maintenance thereon of an equipment rental business for an addition period of two years from and after the time prescribed in said Resolution No. 200~ and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission after consideration of such -1- INDEXEO application and aci~ting in an advisory capacity to the City Council has made its findings and recommendations thereon under its certain Resolution No. 39 entitled "A Resolution of' the City Planning Commission of' the City of' Arcadia, Calif'ornia, Recommending the Granting of an Extension of' a Variance Heretofore Granted Affeeting Certain Real Property Located at 82 w. Las Tunas Drive, in Said City,1t a true copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference the same as if' hereinagain set f'orth. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council does hereby f'ind, determine, and resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That the f'indings of' the City Planning Commission as set forth in their said Resolution No. 39 be and the same are hereby approved and made the findings of' this City Council, the same as if' herein set forth in full; that the recommendations of the City Planning Commission as set forth in their said Resolution No. 39 are hereby approved in full; that the petition of' Equip Rent Co. by Harry B. Fox,as lessee, f'or an extension of' the variance heretofore rendered under Resolution No. 2002, passed, approved and adopted the 7th day of MarCh, 1950 for a period of two years f'rom and af'ter the date prescribed in said Resolution No. 2002 be and the same is hereby granted and approved so as to permit the eontinued operation of' the business described in said Resolution No. 2002 for an additional period of two years from and after the time prescribed in said Resolution and upon the Same terms and conditions as therein described, and upon the f'urther express terms and conditions: (a) That all the property involved, other than those portions thereof presently improved with buildings, be paved within ninety (90) days af'ter the granting of' the extension of the variance. -2- (b) That a reasonable effort be made by the applicant to minimize or eliminate all detrimental noises and lights that might otherwise be objectionable. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution: I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held on the 6th day of February, 1951, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to-wit: AYES: Couno1lmen Kennettl KloJDpI Scbmoeker and Sullivan NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Nott1ngbam c~~ td:?<<o/~oadI.
