RESOLUTION NO. 2118
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA APPOINTING
A CHIEF OF POLICE FOR SAID CITY AND
PRESCRIBING HIS RATE OF COMPENSATION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That effective immediately Neil F. Anderson
be and he is hereby appointed Chief of Police of and for
the City of Arcadia, and that upon taking his oath of
office, he enter upon his duties of office at 12:01
0' clock A..M. of February 7, 1951.
SECTION 2. The duties of office of the Chief of
Police shall consist of such duties as now are or may
hereafter be prescribed by law, or by ordinance, resolution
or instruetion of this City Council.
SECTION 3. That the compensation of Chief of Police
be and the same is hereby fixed and established at the
rate of Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars per month and
shall be paid in the manner and at the times as provided
for the other appointive officers of the City of Arcadia.
Said sum of Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars shall be and
is deemed to include all cost of living adjustments
heretofore allowed and authorized to the employees and
officers of the City of Arcadia. Such eompensation of
Five Hundred (~500.00) Dollars per month shall be deemed
to be and shall be aceepted by the said Chief of Police
as full compensation for the performance of all the duties
and obligations of his office regardless of the number of
hours required for the proper discharge of said duties by
him, and no compensation shall be allowed for any overtime
for any reason whatsoever, it being the intent of this
Resolution that the position of Chief of Police be

established as a full-time position and that the appointee
shall not engage and shall not be permitted to engage
in any other gainful occupation whatsoever during his
term of office.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution:
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Arcadia held on the 6th day of February, 19$1,
by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen,
to-wit:

None
ABSENT: Counoilman Nottingham
