CURRY FOR A PERMIT TO COlmUCT A FAIR A;m EAKING FHDINGS RELATIVE THERETO. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA DOES HEREBY FIND, DET2RiUNE A"I"D RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. On the 2nd day 'of Narch, 1951, there was filed with the City Clerk of the City of Arcadia, the written, signed and verified application of Ira Vl. Curry and Dorothy N. Curry for a permi t to c;nduct a proposed World Transportation Fair in said Ci ty as there in more fully se t forth. SECTION 2. Upon the filing of said application, the Ci~y Clerk set ;:arch 20, 1951, at 8: 00 0' clock P .i'. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City of Arcadia as the date, hour and place of ~~e public hearing to be held upon the matter of said application, and thereupon caused notice of the time, date, place and pur?ose of such hearing to be published as required by ordinance of the City of Arcadia. SECTION 3. Said application was thereupon by the City Clerk referred to the Chief of Police of the City of Arcadia for investigation of any facts which in his opinion warranted inves- tiga tion. SECTION 4. On I:arcn 20, 1951, at 8:00 o'clock J:'.id. or as soon thereafter as the matter could be heard, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall of said City, a public hearing and inves- tigation was held and conducted by t~e City Council of said City relative to said application, at which time the applicants, as well as all persons present, were given a full opportunity to be heard and to present all facts and evidence in support of or in opposition to the granting of said application and the conducting of such a business in said City. -1- ",ofiJJf1 SECTION.5. The said City Council, having read and fully considered the said application of Ira w. Curry and Dorothy N. Curry for a permit to conduct a \1orld Transporation Fair as set forth in said application, and having read the statements con- tained in said application and having considered the facts revealed thereby, and having heard, received and considered the statements and evidence made and offered by the applicants and their attorney, and having heard, received and considered all the statements and evidence made and offered by all persons present in favor of or in opposition to the granting of the requested permit or the conducting of the proposed business, does hereby find and determine that the said application of Ira W. Curry and Dorothy N. Curry for a permit to conduct a ~orld Transporation Fair does not comply with nor fulfill the requirements of Ordinance No. 737, as amended, of the City of Arcadia, and does further find and determine that the gr~~ting, in whole or in part, of a permit to Ira W. Curry and Dorothy N. Curry to conduct a ~orld Transportation Fair and the conducting in the City of Arcadia of the business for which such a permit was thus requested, will be injurious, detrimental and harmful to the public peace, health, safety, morals and welfare of the City of Arcadia and of the inhabitants thereof. SECTION 6. The City Council does hereby refuse in full the permit for which Ira W. Curry and Dorothy N. Curry have thus made application. SECTION 7. The City Council does hereby further find and determine that the cost of advertising and investigation relative to such application exceeds the sum of ~~2.5.00 heretofore paid by said applicants upon the filing of their said application for such a permi t. SECTION 8.
