A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA! CALIFORNIA, DENYING THE APPLICATION OF
IRA W. cURRY AND DOROTHY N. CURRY FOR. A PERMIT
TO CONDUCT A FAffi AND MAKING FINDINGS RELATIVE

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS,

SECTION 1. On the 3d day of April, 1951, there was filed with
the City Clerk of the City of Arcadia, the written, signed and ver-
1fie'r-application of Ira W. Curry and Dorothy N. Curry for a permit
to conduct a proposed World Transportation Fair in said City as therein
more fully set forth.
SECTION 2. Upon the filing of said application, the City Clerk
set May 1, 1951, at 8100 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the
City Hall of the City of Arcadia, as the date, hour and place of the
public hearing to be held upon the matter of said application, and
thereupon caused notice of the time, date, place and purpose of such
hearing to be published as required by ordinance of the City of
Arcadia.
SECTION 3. Said application was thereupon by the City Clerk
referred to the Chief of Police of the City of Arcadia for investi-
gation of any facts which in his opinion warranted investigation.
SECTION 4. On May 1, 19,1, at 8:00 o'clock P.M. or as soon
thereafter as the matter could be heard, in the Council Chambers of
the City Hall of said City, a public hearing and investigation was
held and conducted by the City Council of said City relative to said
application, at which time the applicants, as well as all persons
present, were given a full opportunity to be heard and to present
all facts and evidence in support of or in opposition to the grant-
ing of said application and the conducting of such a business in said
City. That after approximately two hours, said hearing was duly con-
tinued, and said meeting of the City Council was regularly adjourned

to May 2, 1951, at 8100 o'clock P.M., in the said City Council
Chambers, at which time, date and place further testimony and evidence
were heard and received by the City Council, and the applicants, as
well as all persons present were given a full opportunity to be heard
and to present all facts and evidence in support of or in opposition
to the granting of said application and the conducting of such a
business in said City. Upon the conclusion of said public hearing,
the matter was taken under consideration by the City Council.
SECTION 5. The said City Council, having read and fully con-
sidered the said application of Ira W. Curry and Dorothy N. Curry
tor a permit to conduct a World Transportation Fair as set forth in
said application, and having read the statements contained in said
application and having considered the facts revealed thereby, and
having heard, received and considered the statements and evidence
made and offered by the applicants, their attorney, and of witnesses
produced in their behalf, and having heard, received and considered
all the statements and evidence made and offered by all persons pres-
ent in favor of or in opposition to the granting of the requested per-
mit or the conducting of the proposed business, does hereby find and
determine that the granting, in whole or in part, of a permit to
Ira W. Curry and Dorothy N. Curry to conduct a World Transportation
Fair and the conducting in the City of Arcadia of the business for
which such a permit was thus requested, will be injurious, detrimental
and harmful to the public peace, health, ,safety, morals and welfare
of the City of Arcadia and of the inhabitants thereof.
SECTION 6. The City Council does hereby refuse in full the per-
mit for which Ira W. Curry and Dorothy N. Curry have thus made appli-
cation.
SECTION 7. The City Council does hereby further find and deter-
mine that the cost of advertising and investigation relative t9 such
application exceeds the sum of $25.00 heretofore paid by said

applicants upon the filing of their said application for such a
permit.
SECTION 8. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held
on the l,th day of May, 19,1, by the affirmative vote of at least
three Councilmen, to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen Kennett, Schmoeker and Sullivan
NOES: Councilman Klomp
ABSENT: Councilman Nottingham
