AS POLLO'.J S:
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience
require that certain vork and improvement be done in the City of
Arcadia, to uit: the construction of concrete curbs and gutters,
asphaltic concrete pavement, and other uork, and the City Council
of the City of Arcadia hereby orders the Same to be done, in
accordance with Specifications and Improvement Plan No. C-51-3,
on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City of Arcadia,
adopted for said pork, and under direction and to the satisfaction
of Street superintendent of the said City of Arcadia; that Reso-
lution of Intention No. 2183 heretofore adopted by this Council
on the 2nd day of October, 1951, contains a compl~te description
of. the work and', improvement to be done pursuant to this Resolution,

and reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No.
2183 for a complete description of the said work and improvement,
and of the streets or portions of such streets in uhich said work
and improvement. shall be done.
S~CTION 2. That the grade to uhich the work hereinabove
described shnll'be done and the improvement made as provided in
this Resolution is shown on Profile and Improvement Plan No.
C-51-3 on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City,
to uhich Profile reference is hereby made for the description of
such grade.
SECTION 3. All of the foregoing work shall be done in
accordance with said Profile and Improvement Plan Ho. C-51-3 on

file in the office of the ,City Engineer of said City of Arcadia.
All work on grading and the construction of concrete
curbs and gutters, asphaltic concrete pavement and other work shall
be in accordance with the following specifications on file in the
office of the City Engineer of said City of Arcadia, to wit:
"Specifications' 'for the Inprovement of that Portion of Longden
Avenue from Sixth Avenue to Santa Anita Uash and Other streets in
the City of Arcadia."
Said Profile and Improvement plan No. C-51-3 and the
specifications hereinabove referred to were adopted by Resolution
No. 2181 of said City Council of the City of Arcadia, and the same
are hereby made a part of this Resolution and are hereby referred
to for a more partiCUlar description of said work. All streets,
avenues and alleys referred to in this Resolution are public
streets, avenues and alleys of said City.
SECTION 3-A. The City of Arcadia will payout of City
funds that portion of the improvement other than the construction
of curbs and gutters, including excavation, which curb and gutter
construction and excavation is to be assessed against the property
owners.
The City of Arcadia will payout of city funds the con-
struction of curb and gutter, including excavation, for that
portion uhich has to replace existing curb and gutter that does
,
not meet official line and grade, all as shonn on the plans here-
inafter referred to.
SECTION 4. That said contemplated work and improvement
in the opinion of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, is of
more than local or ordinary public benefit and said City Council
hereby makes the expense of said vlork and improvement, (except
that portion of .the cost of construction to be paid by the City
of Arcadia as sp~cified), chargeable upon the District, which
District said City Council hereby declares to be the District
benefited by said vlOrk and improvement and to be assessed to pay

the costs and expenses thereof. A plat or map of said District

indicating by a: boundary line the extentof the lands included in
said district uas approved and adopted by Resolution ~o. 2182
of the city of Arcadia on the 2nd day of October, 1951, and is on
file in the office of the City Engineer of the City of Arcadia;
reference is hereby made to said plat or map ,for a further, full,
and complete description of said Assessment District, which said
plat or map is, designated as Assessment District No. W-60, and
.
said map so on file shall govern for all details as to the extent
of such assessment district.
SbCTIOi~ 5. Said City Counoil also determines and declares
that Serial Bonds shall be issued to represent each assessment of
iwenty-five Dollars (025.00) or more, remaining unpaid for thirty
(30) days after'the date of the recording of the ,}arrant to repre-
sent the expens~s of said work and improvements. Said Serial
Bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years from the
second day of January next succeeding the next October 15th,
following their .'date and an even annual proportion of the principal
sum thereof shall be payable by coupon on the second day of Jan-
, '
uary of e~ch ye~r, following the next October 15tn, after their
date, until the whole is paid, and the interest shall be payable
semi-annually by coupon on the second days of January and July,
respectively, of eacn year after their date at the rate of six
per cent. (6%) p&r annum of all sums unpaid until the whole of
said principal and interest are paid. Said Bonds and interest
thereon shall be: payable at the office of the City Treasurer of
the City of ,Arcadia.

SECTION 6. All proceedings for the aforesaid work and
improvement and ,for the issuance of said bonds shall be had and
taken under and in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the
,
Legislature of the State of California, knovm and designated as
the "Improvement Act of 1911," being Division 7, SGreets and High-
ways Code of the state of California.

SLCTrON 7. The Arcadia Bulletin, a veekly nevspaper of
general circulction, published and circulated in said City of
Arcadia, is hereby desiGnated as the nevspaper irr~hich notice of
said work and improvement inviting sealed proposals, shall be
published in ~he manner and form and by the persons required by law.
SECTION 8. The City Clerk of said City of Arcadia is
hereby directed' to post conspicuously for five days, on or near

the Council Chamber door o.f said City Council, in the manner and
form required by la.l, a notice, together with the specifications
therefor, inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing said work
and said City Clerk is also directed to publish twice in said
,
newspaper designated as aforesaid, in tae mannBr and form required
by law, a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing said

work, and referring to the specifications posted or on. file.
Said notice shall require a certified check or bond, either, as
prescribed by 16;VI for an amount not less than ten per cent of the
aggregate of the: proposal.
Said s~aled proposals or bids shall be delivered to the
City Clerk of said City of Arcadia on or before eight o'clock P.I,l.
on December 4, 1~41; bids will be opened on said day and hour.
SECTION 9. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
I IBrlEBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
held on the 6th day of ~ovember, 1951, by the affirmative vote of
