A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF SAID CITY, REC01ThffiNDING THE GRANTING OF A VAR- IANCE TO AFFECT CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 310 EAST HUNTINGTON DRIVE, IN SAID CITY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. WHEREAS, on the 12th day of January, 1950, there was filed with the Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia the petition of Manuel Maler and Lee Maler, requesting a zoning variance on the following described property in the City of Arcadia, to wit: The westerly 52 feet of lot 3, Tract No. 5205, as shown on map recorded in Book 54, page 61 of Maps, Records of Los Angeles County, excepting therefrom the northerly 130 feet thereof; and located at 310 East Huntington Drive, to permit the foregoing property to be used for the purposes of con- ducting a plQ~bing, heating and sheet metal business; and WHEREAS, said property is now located in an R-3 zone, or multiple family d welling zone; and ~nlliREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia found that the aforementioned property is a part of and adjoins the property of the petitioner upon Huntington Drive, which is now zoned for commercial use; and that the property affected hereby abuts upon a railroad at the rear thereof and that the afore- said property is well suited for the purpose for which this var- iance is requested; ~ffiEREAS, after notice, as required by the pro- visions of Ordinance No. 760 of the City of Arcadia, a public hear- ing was held before the Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia, on the 2nd of February, 1950, and all interested persons were given a full opportunity to be heard; and 1. ,,,pQl;'oV WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Planning Commission, the maintenance of a plumbing, heating and sheet metal business in the zone in which said property is located would not be detrimental to the public welfare, nor injurious to' the surrounding property, and would not ad- versely affect the comprehensive general plan of the City, under certain conditions, AND, ~ffiEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Arca- dia did recommend, in its Resolution No. 24, dated March 2nd, 1950, that the aforesaid petition be granted, subject to the following conditions: 1. That no metal heavier than 18-guage shall be processed upon the premises; 2. That no additions be made to the buildings now upon the premises and no increase be made in the size of such buildings. AND, WHEREAS, the aforesaid Resolution No. 24 of the Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia was adopted by said Commission on March 2nd, 1.950; SECTION 2. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Arcadia does hereby approve and adopt the fore- going recommendations of the Planning Commission, as set forth in said Resolution No. 24 of said Planning Commission, and does hereby grant to petitioner the request for a zoning variance heretofore described. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
