HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023 , RESOLUTION NO. 2023 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, AM$NDING THE RULES AND RE- GULATIONS SUPPLEMENTING ORDINANCE NO. 431 OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, AND ORDINANCES NOS. 438 AND 446 AMENDATORY THERETO. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Section 2 of Rule VI of the Rules and Regulations supplementing Ordinances Nos. 431, 438 and 446, creating the personnel system of the City of Arcadia, pursuant to the recommendation heretofore made by the Personnel Board of the City of Arcadia, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 2. (a) Military Service. When any employee in the competitive service is ordered to serve in the Armed Forces of the United States he shall be considered to be on leave of absence and shall be reln- stated to his former position without loss of seniority rights, provided: 1. Written application for reinstatement is filed with the Personnel Clerk and a copy thereof is filed with the Head of the Department from which the Em- ployee is on leave, within ninety (90) days after the termination of his military services; 2. Satisfactory proof of Honorable Dis- charge is furnished to the Clerk of the Personnel Board and certification of such proof is filed by the Personnel Clerk with the Personnel Board and City Council; 3. Proof of sufficient mental and physical fitness for the duties of the job to which the employee'. is to be reinstated is submitted in the form of a certi- ficate issued by a physician acceptable to the Pereonnel Board. 1. n~t)E~E.D .. Whenever it shall be necessary to dismiss any em- ployee by reason of the reemployment of any former em- ployee eligible to reemployment, as provided in the Rules and Regulations, then the employee within the Classifica- tion having served, the least period of time shall be dis- missed. (b) Military Leave. Military leave shall be granted in accordance with the provisions of State Law. All em- ployees entitled to military leave shall give the appoint- ing power an opportunity within the limits of military regulations, to determine when such leave shall be taken." SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. , , I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the 2nd day of May, 1950, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit: AYES: Counc ilmen Kennett, Klomp, Nottingham, Schmocker and NOES: Sullivan None ABSENT: None City Clerk of cadia.
