A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, ADOPTING THE RECO~~NDATIONS OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF SAID CITY, GRANTING A VARIANCE TO AFFECT CERTAIN REAL PROP1RTY LOCATED AT 114 ST JOSEPH STREET, IN SAID CITY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. WHEREAS, on the 9th day of March, 1950, there was filed with the Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia the petition of Lloyd E. Jones and Helen L. Jones, requesting a zoning variance on the following described property in the City of Arcadia, to wit: Lot 33, Block 79, santa Anita Tract, as shown on map recorded in Book 15, Pages 89 and 90, Miscellaneous Records of Los AnEeles County, situated at 114 st. Joseph Street, to permit the erection thereon of an additional building and to per- mit the manufacture, fabrication and sale of brushes; and WHEREAS, said property is now located in an R-3 zone, or multiple family dwelling zone; and WHEREAS, after notice, as required by the pro- visions of Ordinance No. 760 of the City of Arcadia, a public hear- ing was held before the Planning Commission of the said City on the 6th day of April, 1950, and all interested parties were given the full opportunity to be heard; and VlliEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia, in its Resolution No. 26 did recommend that the afore- said petition be granted, for the following reasons: 1. There were no protests of any, kind to petitioners' request; 2. The property in question adjoins property presently zoned for business and for manufacturing uses, as well as the City Yard; 1. ~~ , 3. The granting of this petition would constitute merely a continuance of an enterprise which has been operating in the past; 4. The granting of this petition will not be in- consistent with good planning practice or the provisions of the Master Zoning Plan, or with the present development of the neigh- borhood in which said property is located; AND, WHEREAS, the aforesaid Resolution No. 26 was adopted by the €aid Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia on the 20th of April, 1950, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: SECTION 2. That the City Council of the City of Arcadia does hereby approve and adopt the foregoing recommendations of the Plann- ing Commission of the City of Arcadia, as set forth in said Reso- lution No. 26 of said Planning Commission, and does hereby grant to petitioners the request for a zoning variance heretofore described. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the 16th of May, 1950, by the affirmative vote of at least three CounCilmen, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Kennett, Klomp, Nottingham, Schmocker and NOES: None Sullivan ABSENT: None' City~ ~b.~Y7fadi 16th d~ M ,1950.
