RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 208
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TBUSTEES OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO n:PROVE A PORTION OF FffiST
AVENUE IN SAID CITY OF ARCADIA AND DETEffi1INING THAT SERIAL BONDS
SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF AND FIXING A TIME
AND PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID PROPOSED UORK OR IU~
PROVEMENT.
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the public interest and convenience re-
quire and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of said Ci~
of Arcadia to order the following work and improvement to be done
in said City of Arcadia, to-uit:
:First: That the existing cement sidewalk on the Easterly
and Westerly sides of said First Avenue between the Northerly line
of Huntington Drive and the Southerly line of Indiana Street pro-

longed Westerly to the Northeast corner of Lot 20, Block 76, part
of Arcadia, in the City of Arcadia; County of Los Angeles, State
of California, as per Map recorded in Book 15, Page 89, IUscellan-
eous Records of said County, be removed and that a ten (10) foot
sidewalk be constructed along the Easterly and Westerly sides of
said First Avenue, except where such ten foot sidewalk now exists.
Second: That the existing concrete curb and gutter along said
Easterly and Westerly sides of said portion of said First Avenue
be removed and that a cement curb be constructed along said por-
tion of said First Avenue.
Third: That ten lighting standards now installed along the
Easterly and Uesterly sides of said portion of First Avenue be re-
moved and that said ten reinforced, concrete or~~ental street
lighting standards together with wires, pipes, conduits, globes,
lamps and appliances for lighting said portion of said First
Avenue, be installed along said Easterly and Westerly sides of
said portion of First Avenue.

Fourth: That said portion of said First Avenue between the
Easterly curb line and a line parallel with and twelve (12) feet
six (6) inches Westerly therefrom, be paved with oil macadam pave-
ment four (4) inches thick and said portion of first Avenue be-
tween the Westerly curb line and a line parallel with and 12 feet
6 inches Easterly therefrom, be paved with oil macadam pavement
four (4) inches thick.
SECTION 2:
That the grade to which the work hereinbefore
described shall be done and the improvement made as provided in
this Resolution, is that shown o~ Profile and Improvement Plan
No. C-120 on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City,
to which said Profile reference is hereby made for the description
of said grade.
SECTION 3:
All of the foregoing work shall be done in
accordance with said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-120 on
file in the office of the City Engineer of said City of Arcadia.
Said work shall also be in accordance with the following
Specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk of said
City of Arcadia, to-wit:
Standard Specifications No. 0 for the construction of curbs,
sidewalks, gutters, oil macadam and concrete pavement.
Standard Specifications No. 1 for the installation of
street lighting standards, wires, conduits and all accessory fix-
tures thereto.
Said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-120 and the Speci-
fications hereinabove referred to, were adopted by Resolution No.
207 , of said Board of Trustees and the same are hereby made a
part of this Resolution and are hereby referred to for a more
particular description of said work.
All Streets and Avenues referred to in this Resolution are
public Streets and Avenues of said City of Arcadia.

SECTION 4: Said Board of Trustees hereby determines and
declares that Serial Bonds shall be issued to represent each as-
sessment of Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars or more remaining unpaid
for twenty (20) days after the date of the warrant to represent
the expenses of said work and improvement.
Said serial bonds
shall extend over a period ending nine (9) il'ears from the second
day of January next succeeding the fifteenth day of the next Nov-
ember following their date and an even annual proportion of the
principal sum thereof shall be payable by coupon on the second
day of January every year after the fifteenth day of the next
November following their date, until the whole is paid and the
interest shall be payable semi-annually by Coupon on the second
days of January and July respectively of each year after their date
at the rate of seven per cent per annum on all sums unpaid until
the whole of said principal and interest are paid.
SECTION 5:
Notice is hereby given that on Uednesday, the
19th day of August, 1925, at the hour of eight o'clock, P. M. of
said day, in the Council Chamber of the Board of Trustees of said
City of Arcadia, in the City Hall of said City, any and all persons
having any objections to said proposed work or improvement or both,
may appear before said Board of Trustees and show cause why said
proposed work or improvement should not be carried out in accordance
with this Resolution.
SECTION 6:
All the proceedings for the aforesaid work
and improvement and for the issuance of said bonds shall be had
and taken uneer and in accordance with the provisions of an Act
of the Legislature of the State of California, known and designated
as the "Improvement Act of 1911," approved April 7, 1911, and of
all Acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof.
SECTION 7:
The Superintendent of Streets shall post or
cause to be posted conspicuously along the line of said contemplat-
ed work or improvement, notices of the passage of this Resolution

in the manner and form required by law.
SECTION 8:
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Resolution and shall cause the same to be published t\7ice
in The Arcadia Journal and ~he Arcadian, a semi-weekly newspaper
published and circulated in said City of Arcadia and hereby
designated for that purpose.
Said Board of Trustees does not
deem it advisable that the Ci ty Clerk mail copies of "1:otice of
Improvementll to the owners or reputed owners of property to be
assessed for such proposed work or improvemant and the mailing of
such notices is hereby dispensed with.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting
of the Board of Trustees of the City of Arcadia, held on the
15th. day of July, 1925, by the affirmative vote of at least three
