RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 233. A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE A PORTION OF BALDWIN AVENUE IN SAID CITY OF ARCADIA AND DETERYINING THAT SERIAL roNDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID PROPOSED WORK OR IMPROVE- MENT . THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: That the public interest and convenience r quire and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of said Cit of Aroadia to order the following work and improvement to be done in said City of Aroadia, to-wit: First: That a concrete curb be constructed on Baldwin Avenue from the Southerly line of Huntington Drive to the North- erly line of Duarte Road in said City of Arcadia, along a line pal'allel to a.nd ten (10) feet ~stel'ly from the Westel'ly line of said Baldwin Avenue, including returns at Baldwin Avenue and Hunt- ington Drivs; Baldwin Avenue and Arcadia Avenue, a.nd Baldwin Av&- nue and Duarte Road, except where a concrete curb is already con- structed in said portion of Baldwin Avenue to the official line and grade and is now in good condition and also excepting ther&- from such portions of said Baldwin Avenue and intersections as are by law required to bs kept in order or repair by any person or company .1- having railroad tracks thereon. Second: That a concrete curb be constructed on said portion of Baldwin Avenue along a line parallel to and ten (IO) feet Westerly from the Easterly line of said Baldwin Avenue, in- cluding returns at Huntington Drive and Baldwin Avenue and at Baldwin Avenue and Duarte Road, excepting therefrom such portions of said Baldwin Avenue and intersections as are required by law to be kept in order or repair by any person or oompany having rail- road tracks thereon. Easterly ourb line of said Baldwin Avenue and the oil macadam pave- ment now in place in said portion of Baldwin Avenue, be graded and paved with oil maoadam pavement four (4) inches thick, except where such oil maoadam pavement is now in plaoe and in good oondition in the interseotions of said Huntington Drive and Baldwin Avenue, Fai view Avenue and Baldwin Avenue and Duarte Road and Baldwin Avenue and also exoepting therefrom such portions of said Baldwin Avenue and interseotions as are required by law to be kept in order or repair by any person or company having railroad traoks thereon. That that portion of the roadway of said Baldwin Avenue from the Southerly line of the existing pavement on Huntington Drive to the Northerly ~ine of the existing pavement on Duarte Road, eleven (11) feet in width and situate between the Westerl~ ourb line of said Baldwin Avenue and the 011 macadam pavement now in place in said portion of Baldwin Avenue, be graded and paved with oil macadam pavement four (4) inches thick, except where such oil macenAm pavement is now in place and in good condition in the interseotions of said Huntington Drive and Baldwin Avenue, Fairview Avenue, Avenue and Baldwin." Arcadia Avenue and Baldwin Avenue, and Duarte Road and Baldwin Avenue and also excepting therefrom such portions of said Baldwin Avenue and intersections as are required by law to be kept in order or repair by any person or oompany having rail road traoks thereon. SEOTION 3: That the grade to whioh the work hereinbefo e described shall be done and the improv.ement made as prOVided in thie Resolution, is that shown on Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-127, on file in the office of the Oity Engineer of said Oity, to which Profile reference is hereby made for the description of such grade. Z t: .; ~ :J 0( 0 ~ a 'i l7 N 0 N 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 :51 32 . .., - Said work shall also be in aooordanoe with the following Speoifications on file in the offioe of the City Clerk of said City of Aroadia, to-wit: Standard Specifications No. 0 for the oonstruction of ourbs, sidewalks, gutters, oil macadam pavement and concrete pave-- ment. Said Profile and Improvement Plan No. 0-127 and the Specifications hereinabove referred to, were adopted by Resolution No. 232 of said Board of Trustees and the same are hereby made a part of this Resolution and are hereby referred to for a more par- tioular desoription of said work. All Streets and Avenues referred to in this Resolution are publio Streets and Avenues of said City of Arcadia. SECTION 5: Said Board of Trustees hereby determines and declares that Serial Bonds shall be issued to represent each aesess ment of Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars or more remaining unpaid for twenty (20) days after the date of the warrant to represent the expenses of said work and improvement. Said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day of January next succeeding the fifteenth day of the next November following their date and an even annual proportion of the princi sum thereof shall be payable by coupon on the second day of Janua every year after the fifteenth day of the next November following their date, until the whole is paid and the interest shall be pay- able eemi-annually by coupon on the second daye of January and Jul respectively of each year after their date at the rate of seven per cent per annum on all sums unpaid until the whole of said prin cipal and interest are paid. SECTION 6: Notice is hereby given that on Wednesday, the 4th. day of November, 1925, at the hour of eight o'clock P. SECTION 7: All the proceedings for the aforesaid work and improvement and for the issuance of said bonds shall be had and taken under and in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, known and designated as the uImprovement Act of 19l1u, approved April 7, 1911, and of all Acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof. SECTION 8: The Superintendent of Streets shall post or cause to be posted conspicuously along the line of said contemplate work or improvement, notices of the passage of thi s Resolution in the manner and form required by law. SECTION 9: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and shall cause the same to be published twice in The Aroadia Journal and The Aroadian, a eemi-weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City of Arcadia and hereby desig- nated for that purpose. Said Board of Trustees does not deem it . advisable that the City Clerk mail copies of UNotice of Improvemen II to the owners or reputed owners of property to be assessed for such.proposed work or improvement and the mailing of such notices is herewith dispensed with. The foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meet- ing of the Board of Trustees of the City of Aroadia held on the 7th. day of October, 1925, by the affirmative vote of at least three Trustees, to--wit: AYES: Trustees Gramm, Granville, Hawk, Multer and Wheel r.
