RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO.256.
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IJ::PROVE A PORTION OF HU}rTING-
TON DRIVE IN SAID CITY OF ARCADIA AND DETERUINING THAT SERIAL
BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF AND FIXING
A TIllE AND PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID PROPOSED TIORK OR
IllPROVEIJiENT.
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the public interest and convenience
require and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of said
City of Arcadia to order the following work and improvement to be
done in said City of Arcadia, to-wit:
FIRST: That a concrete curb be constructed along, the
Southerly side of the roadway of Huntington Drive from the ~esterl
City boundary line of said City of Arcadia to the prolongation
across said Huntington Drive, in its usual course, of the North-
westerly right-of-way line of the Southern Pacific Railway Company,
including curb returns in the Southeasterly intersection of Sunset
Boulevard and Huntington Drive and in the Southeasterly intersec-
tion of Golden West Avenue and Huntington Drive and in the Southeast-
erly and SouthwesterlY intersection of Loveall Avenue and Huntington
Drive and in the Southeasterly intersection of Holly Avenue and
Huntington Drive, except where a concrete curb or curb return is
already constructed in said portion of Huntington Drive to the
official line and grade and is now in good condition.
SECOND: That that portion of the roadway of said
Huntington Drive from the Westerly Boundary line of said City of
Arcadia to the ~ester1y line of the pavement now in place on Santa
Anita Avenue, twenty (20) feet on either side of the existing
center line of said Huntington Drive, be graded and paved with an
oil macadam pavement six (6) inches thick, except where an oil
macadam pot less than six inches thick is already constructed in
said portion of Huntington Drive and also e&cept at the intersec-
tions of Sunset Boulevard, Golden Uest Avenue, Baldwin Avenue,
Loveall Avenue and Holly Avenue with said Huntington Drive, and

excepting therefrom such pertions ef said Huntington Drive and
intersections as are required by law to be kept in erder or repair
by any person or cempany having railroad tracks thereen.
THIRD: That the cerrugated iron pipe new in place in
said pertion ef Huntingten Drive at er near Statien No.. 78 ef said
Huntington Drive,be extended ten (10) feet on either side thereof
and that concrete head-walls be constructed in connectien therewit~.
SECTION 3: That the grade to which the work hereinbe-
fere described shall be done and .the'lmpr.ovement made as previded
in this Reselution is that shewn en Profile and Imprevement Plan
No.. C-128, on file in the office ef the City Engineer of eaid City,
to which Prefi1e reference is hereby made for the description of
such grade.
SECTION 4: All ef the feregeing werk shall be done
in accerdance with said Profile and Im~ovement Plan No.. 0-128 en
file in the office of the City Engineer ef said City of Arcadia.
Said werk shall also be in accerdance with the following
Specificatione en file in the effice of the City Clerk ef said
City of Arcadia, te-wit:
Standard Specifications No. 0 for the censtruction of
curbs, sidewalks, gutters, oil macadam pavement and concrete pave-
ment.
Special Specifications for corrugated iren pipe and
concrete head-walls at er near Station 78 en Huntingten Drive.
Said Profile and Imprevement Plan No.. C-128 and the
Specifications hereinabove referred to, wcre adopted by Resolution
No.. 255 of said Board of Trustees, and the same are hereby made a
part of this Rese1utien and are hereby referred to. for a mere
particular descriptien of said werk.
All Streets, Boulvvards and Avenues referred to. in
this Resolution are public Streets, Boulevards and Avenues of
said City ef Arcadia.

SECTION 5: Said Board of Trustees hereby determines
and orders that Eighteen Thousand Five Hundred ($18,500) Dollars,
representing a portion of the cost and expense of said work and
improvement on said .-Huntington Drive, as hereinabove specified,
shall be paid out of the General Fund of said City of Arcadia.
SECTION 6: Said Board of Trustees hereby determines
and declares that Serial Bonds shall be issued to represent each
assessment of Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars or more remaining
unpaid for twenty (20) days after the date of the warrant to re-
present the expenses of said work and improvement. Said serial
bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years from the
second day of January next succeeding the fifteenth day of the
next November following their date and an even annual proportion
of the principal sum thereof shall be payable by coupon on the
second day of January every y~r after the f~1fteenth day of the
next November following their date, until the whole is paid and
the interest shall be payable semi-annually by coupon on the secon
days of January and July respectively of each year after their dat
at the rate of seven per cent per annum on all sums unpaid until
the whole of said principal and interest are paid.
SECTION 7: Notice is hereby given that on Wednesday,
the 6th day of January, 1926, at the hour of eight o'clock P.M. of
said day, in the Council Chamber of the Board of Trustees of said
City of Arcadia in the City Hall of said City, any and all persons
having any objections to said proposed work or improvement or
both, may appear before said Board of Trustees and show cause why
said proposed work or improvement should not be carried out in
accordance with this Resolution.
SECTION 8: All proceedings for the aforesaid work and
improvement and for the issuance of bonds shall be had and taken
under and in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the
Legislature of the State of California, known and designated as

the "Improvement Act of 1911," approved April 7,1911, and of all
Acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof.
SECTION 9: The Superintendent of Streets shall post or
cause to be posted conspicuously along the line of said contem-
plated work or improvement, notices of the passage of this Reso1u-
tion in the manner and form required by law.
SECTION 10: The City Clerk shall certify to the pass-
age of this Resolution and shall cause the same to be published
twice in The Arcadia Journal and The Arcadian, a semi-weekly news-
paper published and circulated in said City of Arcadia and hereby
designated for that purpose. Said Board of Trustees does not deem
it advisable tha.t the City Clerk mail copies of "Notice of Improve-
ment" to the owners or reputed owners of property to be assessed
for such proposed work, or improvement and the mailing of such
notices is hereby dispensed with.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meet-
ing of the Board of Trustees of the City of Arcadia, held on the
16th day of December, 1925, by the affirmative vote of at least
three Trustees, to-wit:
AYES: Trustees Gramm, Granville, Hawk, Multer and
Wheeler.
NOES: None.
