RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 264 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AROADIA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE A PORTION OF HUNTINGTON DRIVE IN SAID CITY OF ARCADIA AND DECLARING SAID WORK OR IMPROVE- MENT TO BE OF llORE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC BENEFIT AND DE- SCRIBING THE DISTRICT TO BE BENEFITED BY SAID UORK OR IMPROVEMENT AND TO BE ASSESSED TO PAY THE COSTS AND EXPENSES THEREOF AND DETER MINING THAT SERIAL BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT SAID COSTS AND EXPENSES AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK OR U1PROVEMENT OR TO THE EXTENT OF THE DISTRIOT TO BE ASSESSED OR BOTH. THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SEOTION 1: That the public interest and convenience re- qUire and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of said City of Arcadia to order the following work and improvement to be done in said City of Arcadia, to-wit: FIRST: That a concrete curb be constructed along the Southerly side of the roadway of Huntington Drive from the Wester1 Boundary Line of said City of Arcadia to the prolongation across said Huntington Drive, in its usual course, of the Northwesterly right-of-way line of the Southern Paoifio Railway Company, in- cluding curb returns in the Southeasterly intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Huntington Drive and in the Southeasterly intersec- tion of Golden West Avenue and Huntington Drive and in the South- easterly and Southwesterly intersection of Loveall Avenue and Huntington Drive and in the Southeasterly intersection of Holly Avenue and Huntington Drive, except where a concrete curb or curb . return is already constructed in said portion of Huntington Drive to the official line and grade and is now in good condition. THIRD: That the corrugated iron pipe now in place in said portion of Huntington Drive at or near Station No. 78 of said Huntington Drive, be extended ten (10) feet on either side thereof and that concrete head-walls be constructed in connection therewith SECTION 2: That the grade to which the work hereinbe- fore described shall be done and the improvement made as provided in this Resolution is that shown on Profile and Improvement Plan No. 0-128, on file in the office of the City Engineer of said to which Profile reference is hereby made for the description Oity , of such grade. SEOTION ~: All of the foregoing work shall be done in accordance with said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-128 on file in the office of the Oity Engineer of said City of Arcadia, Said work shall also be in accordance with the followin Specifications on file in the office of the City Olerk of said Oity of Arcadia, to-wit: Standard Specifications No. 0 for the construction of curbs, sidewalks, gutters, oil macadam pavement and concrete pave- mente Special Specifications for corrugated iron pipe and concrete head~walls at or near Station 78 on Huntington Drive. Said Profile and Improvement Plan No. 0-128 and the and Special Specifications Specifications hereinabove referred to, were adopted by Resolution A No. 262 of said Board of Trustees, and the same are hereby made a part of this Resolution and are hereby referred to for a more particular description of said work. All Streets, Boulevards and . A Plat or Map of said District indicating by a boundary line the extent of the tsrritory included in the proposed Assessment District is on file in the Office of said City Engineer. Reference is hereby made to the said Plat or Map for a further, full and complete desoription of the said Assessment District. The said Plat or Map shall gov- ern for all details as to the extent of such Assessment District. SECTION S: Said Board of Trustees also determines and declares that Serial Bonds shall be issued to represent each as- sessment of Twenty-five <$25.00) Dollars or more remaining unpaid for twenty (20) days after the date of the Warrant to rspresent the expenses of said work and improvement. Baid Serial Bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day of January next succeeding the fifteenth day of the next November following their date and an even annual proportion of the princi- pal sum thereof shall be payable by coupon, on the second day of January every year after the fifteenth day of the next November following their date, until the whole is paid and the interest slla1l be payable semi-annually, by coupon, on the second days of January and July, respectively, of each year after their date at the rate of seven (7) per cent per annum on all sums unpaid until the whole of said principal and interest are paid. SECTION~: Notice is hereby given that on Wednesday, the 3rd. day of ' February, 1926, at the hour of eight o'clock P. M. of said day, in the Council Chamber of the Board of Trustees of said City of Arcadia in the City Hall of said City, any and all persons having any objections to said proposed work or improvement or to the extent of the District to be assessed or both, may ap- pear before said Board of Trustees and show cause why said pro- posed work or improvement should not be oarried out in accordance with this Resolution. SECTION :.9: The Superintendent of Streets shall post or cause to be posted conspicuously along the line of said contem- plated work or improvement and also along all the open streets within the District liable to be assessed and hereinabove describe, notices of the passage of this Resolution in the manner and form required by law. SECTION 1D: The City Clerk shall oertify to the passage of this Resolution and shall cause the same to be published twice in The Arcadia Journal and The Arcadian, a semi-weekly newspaper published and dirculated in said City of Arcadia and hereby des- ignated for that purpose. Said Board of Trustees does not deem it advisable that the City Clerk mail copies of "Notice of Im- provement" to the owners or reputed owners of property within the said Assessment District and the mailing of such notices is here- by dispensed with. The foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meet- ing of the Board of Trustees of the City of Arcadia, held on the 6th. day of January, 1926, by the affirmative vote of at least three Trustees, to-wit: AYES: Trustees, Gramm, Granville, Hawk and Wheeler.
