A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TH~ CITY OF &BCADIA

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLO~S:
SECTION l. That the public interest and convenience require that
certain work and improvement be done in the City of Arcadia, and tb~
City Council of the City of Arcadia hereby orders the same to be done
in accordance with Specifications and Improvement Plan No.C-175, on
file in the office of the City Engineer of said City of Arcadia,
adopted for s aid work and under the direction and to the satisfaction
of the Superintendent of Streets of said Cit~ of Arcadia; that Reso-
lution of Intention No. 1820, heretofore adopted by this Council on
the 2lst day of December, 1948, contains a complete description of the
work and improvement to be done pursuant to this Resolution, and ref-
erence is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 1820, for
a complete description of said work and improvement.
SECTION 2. That the grade to whic h the work hereinabove des-
cribed shall be done and the improvement made as provided in this Reso-
lution is shown on Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-175, on file
in the office of the City ~ngineer of said City, to which Profile
reference is hereby made for the description of such grade.
SECTION 3. All of the foregoing work shall be done in accordance
with said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-175, on file in the
office of the City Engineer of said City of Arcadia.
All work on gradinG and construction of concrete curbs, gutters
and sidewalks shall be in accordance with the following specifications
on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City of Arcadia,
towit: "Standard Specifications No. 0 for the construction of curbs,
sidewalks, gutters, oil macadam and concrete pavement".
Said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-175 and the Specifications

Council of the City of Arcadia, and the same are hereby made a part
of this Resolution and are hereby referred to for a more pro-ticular des-
cription of said ~ork. All streets and avenues referred to in this
Resolution are public streets and avenues of said ctty of Arcadia.
SECTION 4. That said contemplated work and improvement in the
opinion of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, is of more than
local or ordinary public benefit, and said City Council hereby makes
the expense of said work and improvement chargeable upon the District
which District said City Council hereby declares to be assessed to pay
the costs and expenses thereof, which said District shall include all
those lots in the said City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State
of Californtt, fronting on and adjacent

indicating by boundary line the extent of the lands included in said
District was approved and adopted by Resolution No. 1819 of the City
of Arcadia on the 2lst day of December, 1948, and is on file in the office
of the City Engineer, of the City of Arcadia; reference is hereby made
to s aid plat or map for a further, full and complete description of
said Assessment District, which said plat or map is designated as Assess-
ment District No. W-47, and said map so on file shall govern for all
details as to the extent of such Assessment District.
S~CTION 5. Said City Council also determines and declares that
Serial Bonds shall be issued to represent each assessment of Twenty-
five Dollars (~;;25.00), or more, remaining unpaid for thirty (30) days
after the date of the Warrant to represent the expenses of said work
and improvement. Said Serial Bonds shall extend over a period ending
nine (9) years from the said second day of January next succeeding the next
October l5th following their date and an even annual proportion of the
principal sum thereof shall be payable by coupon on the second day of
January of each year, following the next October 15th after their date,
until the whole is paid, and the interest shall be payable semi-annually
by coupon on the second days of January and July respectively of each

year after their date at the rate of six per cent (6%) per annum on all
sums unpaid until the whole of said principal and interest are paid.
Said Bonds and interest thereon shall be payable at the office of the
City Treasurer of the City of Arcadia.
SECTION 6. All proceedings for the aforesaid work and improve-
ment and for the issuance of said Bonds shall be had and taken under
and in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of
the State of California, known and desisnated as the "Improvement Act
of 1911, beinc; Division 7, Streets and Highways Code of t he State of
California" .
SECTION 7. The Arcadia Tribune and Arcadia News, a weekly news-
paper of general circulation, published and circulated in said City
of Arcadia, is hereby designated as the newspaper in which notice of
said work and improvement inviting sealed proposals shall be pub-
lished in the manner and form and by the persons required by law.
Si:,CTION 8. The City Clerk of s aid City of Arcadia is hereby
directed to post conspicuously for five days, on or near the Council
Chamber door of said City Council, in the manner and form required by
law, a notice, togother with the Specifications therefor, inviting
sealed proposals or bids for doing said work and said City Clerk is
also directed to publish twice in said newspaper designated as afore-
said in the manner and form required by law, a notice inviting sealed
proposals or bids for doing said work, and referring to the Specifi-
cations posted or on file. Said notice shall require a certified
check or bond, either, as prescribed by law for an amount not less than
ten per cent of the aggregate of the proposal.
Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the City
Clerk of said City of Arcadia on or before eight o'clock P.M., on
February 1, 1949; bids will be opened on said day and hour.
SECTION 9. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at
a regular meetine of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on
the 18th day of JanuarJ, 1949, by the affirmative vote of at least
three Councilmen, towit:
