A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA.
ORDERING THE FORMATION OF A LIGHTING MAINTENANCE.DISTRICT,
DESIGNATED AS "LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO.1", WHICH
DISTRICT IS TO PAY THE COST AND EXPENSES FOR THE MAINTENANCE
AND OPERATION OF A STREET LIGHTING SYSTEM NOW INSTALLED ON
PORTIONS OF SANTA ANITA AVENUE, OA~VOOD DRIVE, FIRST AVENUE,
AND Of{ANGE GROVE AVENUE IN SAID CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY DETERMINE,
ORDER. ~ RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That, pursuant to the provisions of Resolution of
Intention No. 1839, and after a public hearing thereon in conformity
witn the provisions of the Municipal Lighting Maintenance District Act
of 1927, being Division 14, Part 3 of the Streets and Highways Code
of the State of California, it is hereby ordered that a light maintenance
district be and the same is hereby formed, and that the boundaries of
such lighting maintenance district, which district is to pay the cost
and expenses for the maintenance and operation of a street lighting
system now installed onportions of Santa Anita Avenue, Oakwood Drive,
First Avenue, and Orange Grove Avenue in the City of Arcadia, shall be and
the same are hereby finally established in conformance with, and as shown
on, that certain map entitled "Diagram of Lighting Maintenance District
No.1." heretofore prepared by the City Engineer, approved and adopted
by Resolution No. 1838, of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, and
on file in the office of the City Clerk.
SECTION 2. That the items of maintenance and operation of the afore-
said street lighting system agreed to be furnished and their estimated
cost for the first year are as follows: electric power, repairs. re-
placements, maintenance, labor. materials, engineering, printing, and
advertising; the estimated amount of electric power necessary for
said system for each year is seventeen thousand seven hundred forty one
(17741) kilowatt hours, and the estimated cost of said electric power
for the first year is the sum of $299.5Z, and the estimated cost of all
other items of maintenance and operation for the first year is the sum
of $1048.52. That those items hereinabove enumerated shall be fur-
nisbed from time to time as necessary.

SECTION 3. That the percentage of the total expenses of the
aforesaid maintenance and operation to be paid by the aforesaid dis-
trict, as set forth in Resolution No. 1839, of the City Council of
the City of Arcadia, shall be paid by special assessment taxes levied
upon all the lands, exclusive of improvements, within said district.
SECTION 4. That sixty per cent (60%) of the total expenses of
maintenance and operation shall be paid by the district and forty per
cent (40%) thereof shall be paid out of the treasury of the City of
Arcadia from the General Fund of said City.
SECTION 5. That a certified copy of this Resolution shall be filed
with the Assessor who makes the assessment for general City taxes, and
thereafter the assessor in making up the City assess~ent roll shall
segregate the property included within the district, hereby ordered
formed, on the assessment roll under the district designation contained
in the resolution, towit: "Lighting Maintenance District No.1".
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the Cityof Arcadia, held
on the 5th day of April, 1949, by the affirmative vote of at least
three Councilmen, towit:
