RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1871
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DE-
CLARING ITS INTENTION TO ESTABLISH SETBACK LINES ON A PORTION
OF A CERTAIN STREET, TOWIT: BALDWIN AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF
ARCADIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Planning Commission of th4 City of Arcadia
has recommended tothe City Council of the City of Arcadia that setback
lines be established on a portion of the street hereinafter described
in this Resolution.
SECTION 2. ~hat the public interest and convenience require, and it
is the intention of the City Council of the City of Arcadia to es-

tablish setback lines upon the following described street in the City
of Arcadia:
(a) A setback line distant 20 feet Resterly from and parallel
to the Westerly line of Baldwin Avenue, along and in front
of that portion of Lot 5, Block nAn of the Santa Anita Land
Company's Tract, County of Los Angeles, State of California,
as per map recorded in Book 6 page 137 of Maps, in the
office of the County Recorder of said County, described as
follows:
BEGINNING at the northeasterly corner of said Lot 5: THENCE
South 800 45' West, along the Northerly line thereof 166.08
feet, more 0 r 1 ess, to the Northeasterly corner of the 1 and
conveyed by Edward T. 8hekellto Anna H. Williams, by deed
dated 1/18/24, and recorded in Book 3081, Page 98 Official
Records of Los Ang~les County, California; THENCE South 80 50'
East, parallel with the Westerly line of said Lot 5, 207 feet,
more or less, to the Northerly line of land conveyed by
Edward T. Shekell and wife, to Walter C. Shekell and wife,
by deed recorded in Book 6411, Page 78 of deeds, Records of
Los Angeles County; THENCE Easterly along said Northerly line
and the Easterly prolongation thereof to the Easterly line
of said lot 5:

THENCE Northerly along s aid Easterly line to the point of BEGINNING.
EXCEPT the Northerly 25 feet included within the lines of Naomi Drive,
and that portion of Lot 5, in Block "A" of the Santa Anita Land Company's
Tract, in the County of Los Angeles, State of ~alifornia, as per map
recorded in Book 6, page 137 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder
of said County, described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the North line of said Lot 5, distant
thereon West 266.08 feet from the Northeast corner thereof;

THENCE South 8 50' East, parallel with the Westerly line of
said lot, 207 feet, more orUess, to the intersection with the
Westerly prolongation of the Northerly line of the land conveyed
by Edwar'd T. Shekell and wi fe, to Walter C. Shekell and wife, by
deed recorded in Book 5380, Page 251 of deeds; THENCE Easterly
along said prolongation and the northerly line of the land so con-
veyed, 100 feet; THENCE North 80 50' West, parallel with the
Westerly line of said Lot 5, 207 feet, more orless, to the North
line of said lot 5: THENCE West along the Northerly line of said
Lot 5, 100 feet to the point 0 f BEGINNING.
EXCEPTING therefrom the Northerly 25 feet, included within the lines of
Naomi Drive, 50 feet wide as n~w established.
SECTION 3. Notice is hereby given th~ on the 21st day of June,1949,
at 8:00 O'clock P.M., of said day, in the Council Chamber of said City
Counci! in the City Hall of said City of Arcadia, any and all persons
having any objections to s aid proposed setback lines may appear before
said City Council and show cause why said proposed setback lines should
not be established in accordance with this Resolution.
SECTION 4. The Superintendent of Streets shall post or cause to be
posted along such portion of said street along whiclin it is proposed to
fix and establish said setback lines, at not more than three hundred (300)
feet in distance apart, but not less than three (3) in all, notices of the
passage of this Resolution of Intention.
~ECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held
on the 17th day of May, 1949, by the affirmative vote of at least three
Councilmen, towit:
