RESOLUTION NO. 1877
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
ACCEPTING TRANSFER OF CERTAIN IMPROVENffiNTS TO SAID CITY
BY THE UNITED STATES OF AtiliRICA AND AUTHORIZING THE EXE-
CUTION OF THE AGRE.'EhiENT RELATING THERETO.
THE CITY COUNCIL 0 F THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. ~HEREAS, on February 15, 1944, the City Council of
the City of Arcadia adopted Resolution No. l28l, granting to the United
States of America (hereinafter referred to as "the Government") a per-
mit to construct and maintain two water pipe lines in and across Hunt-
ington Drive, in the said ,City of Arcadia, as shown on plat or map
attached to said resolution and made a part thereof, for the duration
of the war and six months thereafter;
,VHEREAS, on 21 March 1944 the City Council of the
City of Arcadia adopted Resolution No. l289, granting the Government
a permit to construct and maintain a sanitary sewer line in and across
Huntington Drive in s aid City of Arcadia, at a location described in
said resolution and as shown on plat or map attached to said resolution
and made a part thereof, for the duration of the present war and six
months ther eafter;
WHEREAS, the subject property is no longer required
by the Government and the use thereof will be terminated on May 31, 1949j
WHEREAS, the Government has determined that it is ad-
vantageous and in the interest of the Government to relinquish, transfer,
and deliver to the City of Arcadia, the title to the said water pipe lines
and sanitary sewer line and the City is willing to accept said installa-
tions and improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council does resolve that the
City accept from the Government the two water pipes and sanitary sewer
lines referred to in the foregoing resolutions, and that the Mayor
and City Clerk of the City of Arcadia be and they are hereby authorized
and empowered to execute for and on behalf of the City that certain
Agreement effective May 31, 1949, which is attached hereto, providing

for the transfer to the City of Arcadia of the installations, therein
referred to, by the United ~tates Government.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of th~s
Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the
7th day of June, 1949, by the affirmative vote of at least three
Councilmen, towit:
AYES: Councilmen Boucher, Klomp, Libby, Nugent and Russell
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
