THE CITY COl.'lTCIL OF T:-E CITY OF A:qCADIA DO:C::S HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECT IOI,: 1. That the public interest 9..11d convenience require,
and it is the intention of tho City Council of the City of Arcadia
to order the following vlork 8nd improvement to be done in said
City of Arcadia, to wit:
FIRST: '['hat a concrete curb be constructed along each side
of the roadway of !,jayflovler Avenue, from the northerly city
boundary line to the southerly city boundary line of the City of
Arcadia, and also that a concrete curb be constructed around the
returns at the northwest and south1.78St corners of Idayflo'.ver
Avenc:e and El }[orte Avenue, and also that a concrete curb be
constructed around tne r etur:clS at the northeast and southeast
corners of IEayfloilver Avenue and Short street, and also that a
concrete curb be constructed 2~ound t~e returns at the northwest
and s au thwes t corner s of r,~ayflower Avenue and El Sur t_venue, ex-
cept where sU0-h concrete curb is nO'll in place to the official line
and grade, and is in good condition, all as shown on the plans
here inafter referred to.
SECO~ID: That a conc:!:ete gutter be constructed alons each

Arcadia, and also that a concrete gutter be constructed around
and adjacent to the curb returns at the northwest aI1d southwest

corners of Mayflower Avenue and El Nort~ Avenue, and also that
a concrete gutter be constructed around aDd adjacent to the curb
returns at the northeast anc: southeast corners of Mayflower
Avenue and Short street, and also that a concrete gutter be cons-
tructed around and adjacent to the curb returns at the northwest
and southwest corners of Jv1ayflo\'ier Avenue and El Sur Avenue, and
also that a concrete cross gutter be constructed across the
intersection of Mayflower Avenue and El Norte Avenue, and also
that a concrete cross gutter be constructed across the intersection
of ll!ayflower Avenue aDd Short Street, and also that a concrete
cross gutter be constructed across the intersection of 11ayflower
Avenue and El Sur Avenue, except where such concrete gutter is
now in place to the official line and grade, and is in good
condition, all as shown on the plans hereinafter referred to.
THIRD: That the portion of the roadway between the gutter
lines and the existing macadam pavement in Mayflower Avenue,
from the northerly city boundary line to the southerly city
boundary line of the City of Arcadia, be graded and paved with
an oil m8.cadam pavement two 8I1d one quarter inches (2-1/4")
thick, and also that 340 square feet of the roadway of El Norte
Avenue adjacent to the westerly line of mayflower Avenue, and
272 square feet of the roadway of Short Street adjacent to the
easterly line of ilIayflower Avenue, and 408 square feet of the
roadway of El Sur Avenue adjacent to thew esterly line of Niay-
flower Avenue, be graded and paved with an oil macadron pavement
\
two and one-quarter (2-1/4") inches thick, except where an oil
macadam pavement is already constructed to the official line
and grade and is now in good condition, all as shown on the
plans hereinafter referred to.
SECTION 2. That the grade to which the work hereinbefore
described shall be done and the improvement made as provided in
2.
this resolution is shown on Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-181, on
file in the office of the City Engineer of said City, to which Profile
reference is hereby made for the description of such grade.
SECTION 3. All of the foregoing work shall be done in accordance with
said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-181, on file in the office of the
City Engineer of said City of Arcadia.
All work on grading and the construction of concrete curbs, concrete
gutters, shall be in accordance with the following specifications on file
in the office of the City Engineer of the City of Arcadia, to wit:
"Standard Specifications No. 0 for the construction of curbs, sidewalks,
gutters, oil macadam and concrete pavement." All work on construction of
oil macadam pavement shall be in accordance with the following specification~
on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City of Arcadia, to wit:
"Standard Specifications No. 3 for the construction of 2-1/4" oil macadam
pavement and resurfacing."

Said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-181 and the specifications
hereinabove referred to were adopted by Resolution No. 1910 of said City
COUJ:lCil of the City of Arcadia, and the same are hereby made a part of
this Resolution and are hereby referred to for a more particular des-
cription of said work. The streets and avenues referred to in this
resolution are public streets and avenues of the City of Arcadia.
SECTION 3A. said City Council hereby determines and orders that Eight
Hundred ($800.00) Dollars, representing a portion of the cost and expense
of the construction of the proposed grading and paving on said portions
of said public streets, as hereinabove specified, shall be paid out of
the Special Gas T~~ Fund.
SECTION 4. That said contemplated Vlork and improvement, in the
opinion of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, is of more than
local or ordinary public benefit and said City Council hereby makes
the expense of said work and improvement chargeable upon the District
(except that portion of the cost of construction to be paid by the City
of Arcadia as specified herein), which District said City Council hereby

declares to be the District benefited 'oy said riOrk c'_nd improve-
ment and to be 8.ssessed to pay tl:e cos ts and e xpenses thereof.
A plat or map of said Dist~ict i:ldicating by a boundo.ry line
the extent of tbe lands included in the proposed :isseSS:1ient Dis-
trict, Vias approved ar.d adoptBd by Resolution ::0. 1911 of the
City Council of sD.id City of lircacJ.ia, and is on file i!1 the office
of the City I:n;ineor of the CitJ of Arcadia. Reference is herob:{
macJ.e to the 33.:.d plat or map f'or further, full and COl:1plete d es-
criptio~ of said Assess~ent ~~str~ct, which said plat or map is
designated as Assessrrrent D:..strict =:0. 1N-53, and said map so on
file shall govern for all details as to the extent of such
Assessment Dj.strict.
SECTIon 5. Said City Council also dcterr.lines and declares
that Serial Bonds shall be isslled to represent each assessment of
Twenty five ($25.00) Dollars, or more, rer,l[\inins un:?llid for thir t:'
(30) days after the d ate of the vyal'lpant to represent the expenses
of said Viork, and ilr.provement. Said ser:ial Bonds shall extend
over a per iod of nine (9) :rears from the second day of January
next succeedins the next October 15th followins their date and
an even annual proportion of the principal sum t:1ereof s h3.11 be
pa:'able by COU:?0:1 on the second do:} of J'anuary 0 f each year, fol-
lowinc the next Oc tOC8I' 15th after the ir date, until the v'ihole is
paid, and tho interos t s hall be pa~- able semi-annually by coupon

paid. Said bonds a~d interest thereon shall be p~yable at the
offico of the Citv Treasurer of t~~e City of Arcadia.

may appear before said City Council a~d show cause u~y said pro-
posed YlOrk or i:nprovement should not be carried out in accordance
with this resolution.
SECTIOlT 7. All proceedinc;s for the aforesaid v!orl( and im-
provement and for the issu~nce of said bonds shall be had and
taken under and in accordance 1'! ith tile provisions of an Act of
the Legislature of the St2te of California, kno';m o:,d desic;nated
as the "Improvement Act of 1911", being Division 7 of streets
and HiGhTIays Code of the state of California.

the provisions of Section 2804 of tho Streets and Eic;hways Code
of the St8..te of California, as amended, the written vlaiver of
the owners of more than 60% in the area of the property subject
to assessmcnt for s aid proposed ir:lprovement descri'..}ed herein
havine been sisned and filed with the City Clerk of the City of
A.rcadia, the investication 2..:."1d the report of the City Engineer
provided for in the Special As:essme~t Investication, Linitation
and !i~ajority Protest .!J.~c t; of 1931, being Division 4: of the streets
and IIighrul:.'s Code of the state of Californiu, are hereby speci-
fically waived.
S::OCTIOc" 9. The Superi~tendent of streets s hall post or
caU~3e to be posted conspicuously alon[; the lino of s aid contem-
plated work or improvement and also along all t;,le open streets
within the district liable to be assessed and hereinabove des-
cribed, notices of the passase of this resolution in the manner
and form required by law.
SEcrrIO~: 10. The Cit:{ Clerk shall certify to the o.doption
of this resolution and shall cause tho same to be published twice

in the Arcadia 3ulletin, a newspaper of General circulation,
published and circulated in the City of Arcadia and hereby
designated for that purpose; the City Clerk shall also mail
notice of the adoption of this resolution to all persons owning
real property proposed to be assessed, whose names and addresses
appear on the last equalized assessment roll for City taxes, or
as known to said Cleri:. Such notice shall be given in the manner
and form required by said "Improvement Act of 1911, being Division
7, streets and Hishways Code of the State of California."
