A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY C0U11CIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY TO FIX A TIME AlID PLACE FOR A HEARING ON THE QUESTION OF THE iVITHDRAWAL FROM THE COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICTS OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF SUCH DISTRICTS ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ARCADIA. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the General Laws of the State of California (Chapter 920, Statutes of 1933, page 2396), as amended, and by a Resolution of the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County, adopted February 25, 1941, the following described contiguous territory owned by the City of Arcadia was duly annexed to said City, to wit: That certain territory situated in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, which borders on the present boundary line of the City of Arcadia at Sixth Avenue North of Live Oak Avenue and ex- tends Easterly to Santa Anita Wash; thence South- erly along the Westerly side of Santa Anita Wash approximately one half mile to include territory in and adjacent to the Rio Hondo Channel from Peck Road Westerly for approximately three quarters of a mile, comprising all of those portions of Arcadia Acreage Tract as per map recorded in Book 10, page " i 18 of Maps; Tract 7465 as per map recorded in Book 84, page 9~ of Maps; Goldworthy's Subdivision of the Westerly two-thirds of the Rancho San Fran- cisquito as per map recorded in Book 42, pages 93 and 94, Miscellaneous Records; and E. J. Baldwin'S Subdivision of Lots 15-20 and 29-35 of Rancho San Francisquito as per map recorded in Book 42, Page 1. Page 86, Miscellaneous Records; all Records of the County of Los Angeles and on file in the office of the County Recorder of said County, more particularly described as follows, to wit: BEGINNING at the intersection of the Southeasterly boundary line of the City of Arcadia with the Westerly prolongation of the Northerly line of that'certain parcel of land described in deed recorded in Book 18097, Page 217, Official Records of said County; thence Easterly along said Westerly prolongation and the Northerly line of said parcel of land to the Northeasterly corner thereof; thence ~utherly along the Easterly line of said parcel and its Southerly prolongation to its intersection with the center line of Live Oak Avenue (100 feet wide); thence Easterly along said center line of Live Oak Avenue to its in- tersection with the Northerly prolongation of the Easterly line of Lot B, Tract No. 7465, as per map recorded in Book 84, Page 98 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said County; thence Southerly along said Northerly prolongation and the Easterly line of said Lot B to the Southeasterly corner thereof; thence Westerly along the Southerly line of said Lot B, 45.87 feet, more or less, to the most Northerly cor- ner of that certain parcel of land described in deed recorded in Book 18136, Page 31, Official Records of said County; thence South 10023135" East along the Easterly 2. line of said parcel 890.23 feet; thence South 200317" East 119.23 feet to an angle point in the Northerly line in that certain parcel of land described in deed recorded in Book 10705, page 55, Official Records of said County; thence North 67056120" East along the Northerly line of said parcel of land 2630.23 feet to the most Northerly corner thereof, said point being in the Westerly line of Peck Road (60 feet wide); thence continuing along the boundary of last mentioned parcel of l~nd the following courses and distances: South 22002108" West along the Westerly line of Peck Road 2330.00 feet; thence North 85005119" West 263.58 feet; thence South 58048114" West'302.76 feet; thence South 40022147" West 400:89 feet; thence South 62032100" West 320.56 feet; thence South 49029102" West 217.66 feet; thence south 61025119" West 668.59 feet; thence North 83020111" West-310.00 feet; thence South 22002108" West 686.80 feet; thence North 8302011l" West-540.28 feet; thence North 4002113" . - 0 West 1406.61 feet; thence North 14 03115" East 34.00 feet to an angle point in said boundary, said point being the most Southerly corner of the aforementioned parcel of land described in deed recorded in Book 18136, Page 31, Official Records of said County; thence continuing North 14003115" East 1346.21 feet to an angle point in the boundary line of said last mentioned land; thence along said boundary line as follows: South 3. 76007155" East 415.39 feet; North 21007105" East 1075.14 feet; and North 5605210511 East . 5.71 feet, more or less, to the Southwesterly corner of aforesaid Lot B, Tract No. 7465; thence Northerly along the Westerly line of said Lot B and its Northerly prolongation to its intersection with the center line of Live Oak Avenue (100 feet wide); thence Easterly along said center line of Live Oak Avenue to its intersection with a line which is parallel with the Westerly line of Lot 126, Arcadia Acreage Tract, as per map recorded in Book 10, Page 18 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said County, which line passes through a point in the Southerly line of said Lot 126 distant thereon 50 feet Westerly from the Westerly line of the easement for flood control purposes described in the deed recorded in Book 17363, Page 299, Official Records of said County; thence Northerly along said para- llel line to its intersection with a line which is parallel with and distant Southerly 50 feet from the Northerly line of the aforesaid parcel of land described in deed recorded in Book 18097, Page 217, Official Records of said County; thence Westerly along said parallel line and its Westerly prolongation to a point in the center line of Sixth Avenue (60 feet wide); thence Northerly along the center line of said Sixth Avenue to its intersection with the Southeasterly boundary line 4. of the City of Arcadia; thence Northeasterly thereon to the point of beginning, containing 178.81 Acres~, more or less. and VrnEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939" (Stats. 1939, Ch. 297), as amended, and of Ordinance No. 552 of the City of Arcadia, adopted August 7, 1945, the following described terri- tory contiguous to the City of Arcadia was duly annexed to the City, to wit: That portion of Lot 4, of Tract No. 948 in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, as shown on map recorded in Book 17, Page 21 of Maps ,record(s;, of said County described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in a line which is 15 feet (measured at right angles) northerly from and parallel with the southerly line of Lot 4 of said Tract No. 948, distant 1201.20 feet easterly thereon from the westerly line of said Lot 4, said point being in the northerly line of Foot- hill Boulevard (80 feet in width) thence North 3054' East, 1258.54 feet, more or less, to the Northerly line of said Lot 4, thence Westerly along said Northerly line to the Northwesterly corner of said Lot 4, then South 3054' West along the Westerly line of said Lot 4, 1258.54 feet, more or less, to the intersection with the northerly line of said Foothill Boulevard; thence easterly along the northerly line of said Foot- hill Boulevard 1201.20 feet to the point of beginning. 5. and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexa- tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939" (Stats. 1939, Ch. 297), as amended, and of ordinance No. 641 of the City of Arcadia, adopted April 15, 1947, the following described territory, contiguous to the City of Arcadia was duly annexed to said City, to wit: Lots five (5), Six (6), Seven (7), Ten (10), Thir- teen (13), Fourteen (14), Fifteen (15), Sixteen (16), Seventeen (17), Eighteen (18), Nineteen (19), Twenty (20), Twenty-one (21), of Tract 6925, as per map recorded in Book 74, Page 79 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, and the East 115 feet of Lot Four (4) of Santa Anita Land Company's Pumping Plant No.1 Tract, as per map recorded in Book 10, Page 183, of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexa- tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939" (Stats. 1939, Ch. 297), as amended, and of Ordinance No. 651 of the City of Arcadia, adopted June 3, 1947, the following described terri- , tory contiguous to the City of Arcadia w as duly annexed to said City, to wit: Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 11 and 12 of Tract No. 6925 as per map recorded in Book 74, page 79 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, and 6. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexa- tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939" (Stats. 1939, Ch. 297), as amended, and of Ordinance No. 759 of the City of Arcadia, adopted March 15, 1949, the following described territory contiguous to the City of Arcadia w as duly annexed to said City, to wit: That portion of Lot 5, Block "A" of the Santa Anita Land Company's Tract, County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 6, Page 137 of Maps, in the office of County Re- corder of said County, described as follows: BEGINNING at the Northeasterly corner of said Lot 5; THENCE South 800451 West, along the North- erly line thereof 166.08 feet, more or less, to the Northeasterly corner of the land conveyed by Edward T. Shekell to Anna H. Williams by deed dated 1/18/24, and recorded in Book 3081, Page 98 Officia~ Records of Los Angeles County, Calif- ornia; THENCE South 80501East, parallel with the Westerly line of said Lot 5, 207 feet, more or less, to the Northerly line of land conveyed by Edward T. Shekell and wife to Walter C. Shekell and wife, by deed recorded in Book 6411, page 78 of deeds, Records of Los Angeles County; THENCE Easterly along said Northerly line and the Easter- ly prolongation thereof to the Easterly line of said Lot 5; THENCE Northerly along said Easterly line to the point of BEGINNING. EXCEPT the Northerly 25 feet included within the lines of Naomi Drive, and that portion of Lot 5, in Block "A" of the Santa Anita Land Company's Tract, in the County of Los Angeles, State of 7. California, as per map recorded in Book 6, Page 137 of Maps, in the office of the County Re- corder of said County, described as follows: BEGIm~ING at a point in the North line of said Lot 5, distant thereon West 266.08 feet from the Northeast corner thereof; THENCE South 8050' East, parallel with the Westerly line of said lot, 207 feet more or less, to the intersection with the Westerly prolongation of the Northerly line of the land conveyed by Edward T. Shekell and wife, to Walter C. Shekell and wife, by deed recorded in Book 5380, Page 251 of Deeds; THENCE Easterly along said prolongation and the Northerly line of the land so conveyed, 100 feet; THENCE North 8050' West, parallel with the Westerly line of said Lot 5, 207 feet, more or less, to the North line of said Lot 5; THENCE West along the Northerly line of said Lot 5, 100 feet to the point of BEGINNING. EXCEPTING therefrom the Northerly 25 feet, in- cluded within the lines of Naomi Drive, 50 feet wide as now established, and WHEREAS, each and all of the aforementioned terri- tories are now included within the boundaries of the City of Arcadia, a city of the Sixth Class, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County be and it is hereby requested to fix a time and place for a hearing on the question of the withdrawal of the above-described 8. portion or portions of the County Fire Protection Districts from such districts, in accordance with the provisions of the Health and Safety Code of the State of California. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall forward a duly certified copy of this Resolution to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, Hall of Records, Los Angeles, California. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
