RESOLUTION NO. 1926.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA ORDERING CERTAIN WORK AND IMPROVENillNT TO
BE DONE ON PORTIONS OF MAYFLO~[ER AVENUE A]~ OTHER
STREETS, IN SAID CITY OF ARCADIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience
require that certain work and improvement be done in the City
of Arcadia, to wit: The construction of concrete curbs and
gutters, concrete sidewalks and oil macadam pavement, and the
City Council of the City of Arcadia hereby orders the same to
be done, in accordance with Specifications and Improvement Plan
No. C-181, on file in the office of the City Engineer of said
City of Arcadia, adopted for said work, and under direction and
to the satisfaction of Street Superintendent of the said City

of Arcadia; that Resolution of Intention No. 1912 heretofore
adopted by this Council on the 6th day of September, 1949, con-
tains a complete description of the work and improvement to be
done pursuant to this Resolution, and reference is hereby made
to said Resolution of Intention No. 1912 for a complete descrip-
tion of the said work and improvement, and of the streets or
portions of such streets in which said work and improvement shall
be done.
SECTION 2. That the grade to which the work hereinabove
described shall be done and the improvement made as provided in
this Resolution is shown on Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-181
on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City, to which
Profile reference is hereby made for the description of such grade.
SECTION 3. All of the foregoing work shall be done in
accordance with s aid Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-181, on
file in the office of the City Engineer of said City of Arcadia.

All work on grading and the construction of concrete
curbs, concrete gutters and concrete sidewalks shall be in ac-
cordance with the following specifications on file in the office
of the City Engineer of said City of Arcadia, to wit: "Standard
Specifications No. 0, for the construction of curbsm sidewalks,
gutters, oil macadam and concrete pavement."
All work on construction of oil macadam pavement shall
oe in accordance with the following specifications on file in the
office of the 'City Engineer of said City of Arcadia, to wit:
"Standard Specifications No.3, for the construction of 2ilt oil
macadam pavement and resurfacing."
Said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-181 and the
specifications hereinabove referred to were adopted by Resolution
No. 1910 of said City Council of the City of Arcadia, and the
same are hereby made a part of this Resolution and are hereby
referred to for a more particular description of said work. All
streets and avenues referred to in this Resolution are public
streets and avenues of said City.
SECTION 4. That said contemplated work and improvement
in the opinion of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, is
of more than local or ordinary public benefit and said City
Council hereby makes the expense of said work and improvement
chargeable upon the District, which District said City Council
hereby declares to be the District benefited by said work and
improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses
thereof, which said District shall include all those lots, or
parcels of land, and all the land in the said City of Arcadia
fronting on and adjacent to the streets or portions of such
streets described in said Resolution of Intention No. 1912. A
plat or map of said District indicating by a boundary line the
extent of the lands included in said District was approved and
adopted by Resolution No. 1911 of the City of Arcadia on the

6th of September, 1949, and is on file in the office of the City
Engineer of the City of Arcadia; reference is hereby made to
said plat or map for a further, full, and complete description
of said Assessment District, which said plat or map is designated
as Assessment District No. W-53, and said map so on file shall
govern for all details as to the extent of such Assessment District.
SECTION 5. Said City Council also determines and
declares that Serial Bonds shall be issued to represent each
assessment of Twenty five Dollars ($25.00) or more, remaining
unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of the Warrent to repre-
sent the expenses of said work and improvements. Said Serial
Bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years from the
second day of January next succeeding the next October 15th, fol-
lowing their d ate and an even annual proportion of the principal
sum thereof shall be payable by coupon on the second day of
January of each year, following the next October 15th, after
theircuate, until the whole is paid, and the interest shall be
payable semi-annually by coupon on the second days of January and
July, respectively of each year after their date at the rate of
six per cent (6%) per annum on all sums unpaid until the whole of
said principal and interest are paid. Said Bonds and interest
thereon shall be payable at the office of the City Treasurer of the
City of Arcadia.
SECTION 6. All proceedings for the aforesaid work and
improvement and for the issuance of said Bonds shall be had and
taken under and in accordance with the provisions of an Act of
the Legislature of the State of California, known and designated
as the "Improvement Act of 1911", being Division 7, streets and
Highways Code of the State of California".
SECTION 7. The Arcadia Bulletin, a weekly newspaper of
general circulation, pUblished and circulated in said City of
Arcadia, is hereby designated as the newspaper in which notice
of said work and improvement, inviting sealed proposals, shall be
published in the manner and form and by the persons required by law.

SECTION 8.
The City Clerk of said City of Arcadia
is hereby directed to post conspicuously for five days, on or
near the Council Chamber door of said City Council, in the
manner and form required by law, a notice, together with the
Specifications therefor, inviting sealed proposals or bids for
doing said work and said City Clerk is also directed to publish
twice in said newspaper designated as aforesaid in the manner
and form required by law, a notice inviting sealed proposals or
bids for doing said work, and referring to the Specifications
posted or on file. Said notice shall require a certified check,
or bond, either, as prescribed by law for an amount not less than
ten per cent of the aggregate of the proposal.
Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the
City Clerk of said City of Arcadia on or before eight o'clock

P.M. on November ~, 1949; bids will be opened on said day and
hour .
SECTION 9. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
l HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of

Arcadia, held on the ~ day of October, 1949, by the affirmative
vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
