RESOLUTION NO. 1961.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CO~CIL OF THE CITY
OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING CONTRACT FOR
CERTAIN WORK AND IMPROVE~ffiNT TO BE DONE ON A
PORTION OF LAS TUNAS DRIVE IN SAID CITY OF
ARCADIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of
Arcadia did in open session at its regular meeting on December
6, 1949, publicly open, examine and declare all sealed proposals
or bids for doing certain work and improvement on a portion of
Las Tunas Drive in the City of Arcadia; that Resolution of In-
tent ion No. 1932, heretofore adopted by this Council on the
18th day of October, 1949, contains a complete description of said
work and improvement and reference is hereby made to said Resolution
of Intention No. 1932, for a complete description of said work
and improvement.
SECTION 2. That the grade to which the work hereinabove
described shall be done and the improvement made as provided in
this Resolution is shown on Profile and Improvement Plan No.
C-183 on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City,
to which Profile reference is hereby made for the description
of such grade.
SECTION 3. All of the foregoing work shall be done in
accordance with said Profile and Improvement plan No. C-183, on
file in the office of the City Engineer of said City of Arcadia.
All work on the construction and reconstruction of
concrete curbs and concrete gutters shall be in accordance with
the following specifications on file in the office of the City
Clerk of said City of Arcadia, to wit: "Standard Specifications
No. 0 for the construction of curbs, sidewalks, gutters, oil

macadam and concrete pavement."
Said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-183 and the
Specifications hereinabove referred to were adopted by Resolu-
tion No. 1930 of said City Council of the City of Arcadia, and the
same are hereby made a part of this Resolution and are hereby
referred to for a more particular description of said work. All
streets and avenues referred to in this Resolution are public
streets and avenues of said City of Arcadia.
SECTION 4. That said contemplated work and improvement,
in the opinion of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, is
of more than local or ordinary public benefit and said City Coun-
cil hereby makes the expense of said work and improvement charge-
able upon the District, which District said City Council hereby
declares to be the District benefitted by said work and improve-
ment and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof
and which said District is completely described in Resolution
No. 1931 of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, heretofore
adopted by this Council on October 18, 1949, and to which Reso-
lution reference is hereby made for a complete description of said
District to be assessed to pay the cost and expense of said work
and improvement.
SECTION 5. Said City Council also determines and declares
that Serial Bonds shall be issued to represent each assessment
of Twenty Five ($25.00) Dollars, or more, remaining unpaid for
thirty (30) days after the d ate of the Warrant to represent the
expenses of said work and improvement. Said Serial Bonds shall
extend over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day
of January next succeeding the next October 15th following their
date and an even annual proportion of the principal sum thereof
shall be payable by coupon on the second day of January of each

year, following the next October 15th after their date, until
the whole is paid, and the interest shall be payable semi-annually
by coupon on the second days of January and July, respectively,
of each year after their date, at therate of six (6%,) per cent
per annum on all sums unpaid until the whole of said principal
and interest are paid. Said Bonds and interest thereon shall
be payable at the office of the City Treasurer of the City of
Arcadia.
SECTION 6. All of the proceedings for the aforesaid work
and improvement and for the issuance of said Bonds shall be had
and taken under and in accordance with the provision of an Act
of the Legislature of the State of California, known and desig-
nated as the "Improvement Act of 1911", being Division 7,
Streets and Highways Code of the state of California.
Reference is hereby made to Resolution of Intention No.
1932, of said City Council, declaring its intention to order
said work to be done, for further particulars, which Resolution
of Intention is on file in the office of the City Clerk of the
City of Arcadia.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED th~t said City Council
hereby rejects all of said proposals or bids except the next herein
mentioned and hereby awards the contract for doing said work
and improvement to the lowest, regular, respon~~le bidder there-

at the price mentioned in its proposal on file for said work and

The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of
this award twice in the Arcadia Bulletin, a newspaper of general
circulation, published and circulated in the City of P~cadia,

and hereby designated for that purpose by the said City Council.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Arcadia, held on the 6th day of December, 1949, by the affirma-
tive vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
