A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING A~ID DIR- ECTING THE FILING AND PROSECUTION OF CERTAIN LITIGATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ARCJwIA. THE CITY COffifCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. VnfBREAS, the City of Arcadia has made plans for a city-wide system of parks and playgrounds as a necessary health measure, and "NHEREAS, it is essential to the carrying out of such plans that various real properties be acquired through- out said City for health and ~ecreation purposes, and ~rrillREAS, that certain real property herein- after mentioned and described cannot be obtained without re- course to legal proceedings and it is necessary that said real property be obtained without delay so that the aforesaid plans may proceed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Attorney, T. Guy Cornyn, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to forthwith institute legal action in the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for the County of Los Angeles, for the purpose of acyuiring by condemnation or otherwise those certain parcels of real p~operty situated in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of Califor- nia, and described as follows: A part of Lot 6 in Bloclr 89 of Santa Anita Tract, in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 34 pages 41 and 42 of Miscellaneous Records, in the office of the County Record- er of said County, described as follows: 1. 11<0,,'1-,,0 Beginning at the intersection of the north line of said lot 6, with the west line of second avenue (60 feet wide); thence south along the west line of second avenue to the south line of said lot 6; thence west along the south line of said lot 6 to the center line of that certain easement for Santa Anita Wash, recorded in book 11324, page 4, Official Records of said County; thence northwesterly along the center line of said easement to tile north line of said lot 6; thence east thereon to the point of beginning. SECTIOH 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
