RESOLUTION NO. 1700
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
DECLARI~G ITS INTENTION TO ESTABLISH SETBACK LINES ON
PORTIONS OF BAL~IIN AVENUE AND DUARTE ROAD, BeTH BEING
PUBLIC STREE~S IN THE CITY OF ARCADIA.
THE CITY COm~CIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOi/S:
SECTION 1. That the Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia
has recommended to the City Council of the City of Arcadia that
setback lines be established on portions of Baldwin Avenue and
Duarte Road, both being public streets in the City of Arcadia, here-
inafter described in this Resolution.
SECTION 2. That the public interest and convenience require
and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Arcadia to
establish setback lines upon portions of Ba~dwin Avenue and Duarte
Road in the ~ity of Arcadia, as follows:
(a) A setback line distant fifty (50) feet westerly from
and parallel with the center line of Baldwin Avenue
from the southerl)T boundary line of Duarte Road to
the northerly boundary line of Naomi Avenue;
(b) A setback line distant fifty (50) feet southerly
from and parallel with the center line of Duarte
Road from the westerly boundary line of Baldwin
Avenue to a point 399.91 feet west of the westerly
boundary line of said Baldwin Avenue.

SECTION 3. Notice is hereby given that on the 2nd day of
SepteMber, 1947, at 8 o'clock p.ri~., of said day in the Council
Chamber in the City Hall of the City of Arcadia, any and all persons
having any objection to the proposed setback lines May appe~r before
said City Couneil and show cause why said setback lines should not be
established in accordance with this Resolut~on.
SECTION 4. The Superintendent of Streets shall post or cause to
be posted along; said portion of said street along which it is pro-
posed to fix a~d establish said setback lines, at not More than three
hundred (300') feet in distance apart, but not less than three (3)
in all, notices of the passage of this ~esolution of Intention.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of

this Resolution, and shall cause the same to be published once in the
Arcadia Tribune and Arcadia News, a newspaper of general circulation
published and circulated in the City of Arcadia, and hereby desig-
nated for that purpose.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution of Intention was
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council ~the City of
Arcadia, held on the 19th day of August, 1947, by the affirmative vote
of at least three CouncilMen, towit:
AYES: CounCilMen, Adcock, Ormsby and Russell
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmen Leeper and Nugent
