m:SOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
C:TY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR SANITARY
SEllERS. APPROVING ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
MJ.P .MID RESOLUTION OF INTENTION, MAKING
FINDINGS RELATING TO ilORK IN MORE THAN
Ol~ JURISDICTION, AND REQUESTING CONSENT
OF' LEGISLATIVE BOD:rn:S THERETO.
WHEREAS. plans designated "Plan No. C-171"
consisting of sheets numbered 1 to 127, both inclusive.
and specifications designated "Specifications for
Sanitary Sewer Improvements AsseSSMent District No. W-43."
providing fo:r the construction of certain sanitary sewers,
have been presented to this City Council and proceedings
for the cons.l;ruction of said work or improveMent are to
be taken undt3r the ImproveMent Act of 1911; and
WHl~REAS, assessment district Map designated "Map
of AssessMen1; District No. W-43," shOWing the boundaries of
the territory benefited by the proposed work or improveMent
and to be assessed therefor. has been presented to this City
Council and e1xamined; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the work has been
filed with th.is City Council; and
\i.HEREAS, a proposed resolution of intention is
presented and examined;
NOV1, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
ArcadIa. Cali.fornia. DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE as
follows:

Section 1. That said plans and specifications
are hereby approved and ordered filed in the office of the
City Clerk.
S!lction 2. That said asseSSMent district Map is
hereby approved and ordered filed in the office of the City
Clerk.
Section 3. That said proposed resolution of
intention is hereby approved.
seotion 4. That the public interest and conven-
ience require and in the opinion of this City Council the
proposed uork described in said plans and specifications is
of euch a character that it directly and peculiarly affects
property in the City of Arcadia and in each of the cities
Mentioned in Section 5 hereof. and in unincorporated terri-
tory of the County of Los Angeles. and that the purposes
sought to be aCCOMplished by the said work can best be
aCCOMplished by a single COMprehensive scheme of work as
set out in se.id plans and specifications. That, as shown
on said plans, said work shall extend beyond the territorial
limits of the City of Arcadia, and the boundaries of the
district to be assessed therefor shall likewise extend beyond
the territorial limits of the City of Arcadia and include
certain lands in the unincorporated territory of the County
of Los Angeles, as shown on said assessment district Map,
and in the opinion of this City Council the lands in the
unincorporated territory of the County of Los Angeles
proposed to be included within the boundaries of said

asseSSMent district will be benefited by the proposed
work.
Section 5. That the Board of Supervisors of
the County. of Los Angeles is requested hereby to approve
said resolution of intention and to consent to the work
and the formation of the asseSSMent district described
therein, and the Board of Directors of the City of Pasadena
and the City Council of each of the Cities of Sierra Madre
and Monrovia (said work extends into each of said cities
but no part of said cities is included in the proposed
assessment district) <be and each of theM is hereby requested
to approve said resolution of intention and to consent to the
said work and improveMent and the formation of the asseSSMent
district described in said resolution of intention.
Section 6. That the City Clerk of the City of
Arcadia is hereby authorized and directed to file a certified
copy of this resolution, together with a certified copy of
said proposed resolution of intention and the asseSSMent
district Map with each of said legislative bodies whose
consent is herein requested.
Section 7. That the Health Officer of each of
said cities and of said county be and is hereby requested
to deterMine whether the construction of said work described
in said resolution of intention and set forth in the plans
and specifications is necessary as a health Measure and if
proceedings therefor under the ImproveMent Act of 1911 are
necessary as a health Measure, as provided in Section 2808
of the Streets and Highways Code.
