HomeMy WebLinkAbout1755 RESOLUTION NO. 1755- RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING CONTRACT FOR WORK AND IMPROVEMENT ORDERED BY RESOLUTION NO. l730 OF SAID Cl'rY COUNCIL. WHEREAS, this City Council, on the 3rd day of February, 1948, duly adopted Resolution No. 1730 ordering the following work to be done and improvement to be made, to wit: all that certain work and improvement described in Resolut:lon No. 1725, duly adopted by this City Counoil on the lOth day of November, 1947; and WHBREAS, pursuant to and in accordance with said Resolution No. l730 a notioe inviting sealed bids or pro- posals for doing said work and improvement was duly pUblished and posted; and WHEREAS, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P. M" March 2, 1948, at the Council Chambers of this City Council, the time and plaoe fixed for the opening of said sealed bids or pro- posals, all sealed bids or proposals for said' work and improvement whioh were delivered to the City Clerk were presented to this City counoil and, in open session, were publicly opened. examined and deolared; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Aroadia, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows: Seotion 1. That this City Council does hereby \NOEXIiD determine that the bid of Mike Radich & Co., a copartner- ship composed of Mike Radich and Edwin Fergusson, is the lowest regular bid for said work and improvement of any responsible bidder and that said bid is accompanied by a good and sufficient bond which is satisfactory to this City Council, and this City council does hereby award the contract for said work and improvement to the above named bidder, at the prices named in the bid of said bidder. Section 2. That all bids or proposals for said work and improvement, other than the said lowest regular bid above accepted. are hereby rejected and the City Clerk is directed to return to each bidder whose bid is so rejected the check or bond which accompanied his bid. Section 3. Reference is made to said Resolution No. 1725 for a full and complete description of said work and improvement and the grades at which the same shall be done, for a description of the district which this City Council has declared to be the district benefited by said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the cost and expense the]~eof, for a description of the serial bonds to be issued to represent unpaid assessments and for further particulars. The work and improvement and all proceedings therefor are and shall be done and performed under and in accordance with the "Improvement Act of 1911" (Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of california). Section 4. That the City Clerk of the City of Arcadia is hereby directed to publish twice in the ARCADIA TRIBUNE, a newspaper published and circulated in the County 2. of Los Ang'3les, and twice in the SIERRA MADRE NEWS, a newspaper published and circulated in said County, a notice of this award. Said notice ~hall contain the matters and things required by law and shall be published in the mamler required by law.
