A R:B;SOLUTION OF' THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF' ARCADIA
D~SIGNATING PORTIONS OF CERTAIN PUBLIC STREETS IN SAID
CITY AS Tm~OUGH HIGHWAYS AND DIRECTING THZ PLACING AND
11AIl.,TAINING OF "STOP SIGNS" ON CERTAIN STREETS INTER-
S~CTING v~~rH SAID THROUGH HIGHWAYS, AND REPEALING RES-
OLUTION NO '. 1717, ADOPTED OCTOBE-R 14, 1947.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, ChLIFORNIA, DOES
HEREBY DETbRMINE, RESOLVE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the following described portions of certain
public streets in the City of Arcadia are hereby designated as
throueh highwaYIl in accordance vlith the provisions of Section 23
of Ordinance No. 200 of the City of Arcadia, to wit:
(a) Santa Anita Avenue at its intersection with Diamond Street;
(b) Diamond Street at its intersection with Santa Anita Avenue;
(c) Santa Anita Avenue at its intersection with California Street.

SECTION 2. The Chief of Police of said City/authorized and he
is hereby directed to cause to be placed and maintained "stop Signs"
at the followinG locations, to wit:
(a) Upon t.he northerly side of Diamond Street at or near the
easterly propert.y line of Santa Anita Avenue;
(b) Upon the southerly side of Diamond Street at or near the
westerly property line of Santa Anita Avenue;
(c) Upon the westerly side of Santa Anita Avenue at or near
the northerly property line of Diamond Street;
(d) Upon the northerly side of California Street at or near
the easterly property line Bf Santa Anita Avenue.
(e) Upon the easterly side of SantaAnita Avenue at or near
the southerly property line of Diamond Street.
SECTION 3. Each of the signs so directed to be placed and
maintained shall conform to the requirements of Section 23 of
Ordinance No. 200 of the City of Arcadia and of Section 471 of the
Vehicle Code of the State of California.
SECTION 4. That Resolution No. 1717 of the City of Arcadia"
adopted October 4, 1947, be and the same is hereby repealed.

SECTION 5. The Chief of Police of said City is authorized and
he is hereby directed to cause the removal forth''lith of the "stop
Signs" heretofore placed and maintained <,.t the following locations,
to ,'lit:
(a) Upon the easterly side of First Avenue at or near the
northerly prope~ty line of California Street;
(b) Upon the westerly side of First Avenue at or near the
southerly property line of California Street&
(c) Upon ~he northerly side of California Street at or near
the easterly property line of First Avenue;
(d) Upon the southerly side of California Street at or near
the westerly property line of First Avenue;
(e) Upon the southerly side of Cal ifornia at or near the
easterly property line of SantaAnitaAvenue;
(f) Upon the westerly side of Santa Anita Avenue at or near
the northerly property line of Lemon Avenue;
(g) Upon ,the easterly side of SantaAnita livenue at or near
the southerly property line of Lemon Avenue;
(h) Upon the westerly side of Santa Anita Avenue at or near
the northerly property line of Wistaria Avenue;
( i) Upon the westerly side of Santa Anita Avenue at or near
the northerly property line of Las Flores Avenue;
(j) Upon the easterly side of Santa Anita Avenue at or near
the southerly property line of Las Flores Avenue ;;
and at or upon a.ll other intersections at which "Stop Signs" have
been heretofore placed or maintained without specific authority
t~ough a resolution of the City Council regularly adopted and
approved.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution.
I HE:,EBY OERTIFY that the foreGoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meetine of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,

held on the 6th day of July, 1948, by the affirmative vote of at
least three Councilmen, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen, Ewing,Klomp, Nugent and Russe]]
NOES: None
ABSENT: Conncilman Boucher
