HomeMy WebLinkAbout3136 RESOLUTION NO. 3136 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~HE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING A PORTION OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT INCLUDED WITHIN THE CITY OF ARCADIA BY REASON OF ANNEXATION NO. 17-A, SOUTHWEST ARCADIA INHABITED WITHDRAWN FROM SUCH DISTRICT. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1, That the property hereinafter described is now included within the City of Arcadia by reason of the annexation of said property to the City of Arcadia as hereinafter set forth, That said property is presently included within the Los Angeles County Fire Protection District. That said property is hereby de- clared to be withdrawn from the Los Angeles County Fire Protection District pursuant to Section 14540 of the Health and Safety Code of the State of California, SECTION 2, That the property thus declared to be with- drawn from the Los Angeles County Fire Protection District is de- scribed as all that real property annexed to the City of Arcadia under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 1053, adopted April 7, 1959, filed with the Secretary of State of the State of California on May 13, 1959, designated as Annexation No, 17-A, Southwest Arcadia Inhabited, and bounded and described as follows: -1- 3136 "ANNEXATION NO. 17-A, SOUTHWEST ARCADIA INHABITED" TO THE CITY OF ARCADIA (Revised) Beginning at a point in the boundary of the City of Ar- cadia, as same existed on March 1, 1957, said point lying in the northerly line of Lot 2, Block C, Santa Anita Land Company's Tract, as per map recorded 1n Book 6, page 137, of Maps 1n the office of the Reoorder of Los Angeles County, 247.14 feet easterly of the northwest corner of said Lot 2; thence southerly 327.11 feet along a Une parallel w1th the easterly Une of sa1d Lot 2 to the south- erly line thereof; thence easterly along the southerly lines of Lots 2 and 1 of said Block C to the southeast corner of said Lot 1; thenoe easterly in a direct line to a po1nt in the westerly line of Lot 2, Block B of said Santa Anita Land Company's Tract, sa1d point lying 10.23 feet northerly from the southwest corner of said last mentioned Lot 2; thence easterly parallel with the northerly line of said last mentioned Lot 2 a distance of 300 feet; thence southerly parallel with the westerly line of said last mentioned Lot 2 to the southerly line thereof; thence easterly along the southerly lines of Lots 2 and 1 of said Block B to the southeast corner of Lot 1 of said Block B; thence easterly in a direct line to the southwest corner of Lot 2 of Block A of said Santa Anita Land Company's Tract; thence 378 feet easterly along the southerly line of Lot 2 of said Block A to a point; thence southerly along a line, sa1d line being parallel with the easterly line of Lot 3 of said Block A, to a point in the southerly line of said Lot 3; thence easterlY along said last mentioned southerly line a dis- tance of 3 feet; thence southerly parallel with the easterly line of Lot 6 of said Block A to a point in the northerly line of Lot 7 of said Block A; thence westerly along last mentioned northerly line a distance of 15 feet; thence southerly along a line parallel with the easterly line of said Lot 7 to the southerly line of said last mentioned lot; thence southerly in a cUrect Une to the northwest corner of Tract 19413 as per map recorded in Book 492, pages 4 and 5, of Maps in the office of said Recorder; thence southerly and easterly along the westerly and southerly boundary lines of said last mentioned tract to a point in the southerly line of Lot 7 of said last mentioned tract, said point being the point of intersection of said last mentioned southerly line with the westerly line of Camb~ry Avenue, 25 feet wide as shown on map of Tract 15797 recorded in Book 382, pages 38 and 39 of Maps in the office of said Recorder; thence southerly in a direct line to the southeasterly corner of Lot 12 of said last mentioned tract, being a point in the northerly line of Lot 6 of Block G of the previously mentioned Santa Anita Land CompanylsTract; thence easterly along the northerly l1ne of said last mentioned Lot 6 to the northeast corner thereof; thence southerly along the westerly lines and along the southerly prolongation of the westerly lines of Lots 5 and 8 of said Block G and continuing southerly along the westerly lines of Lots 1 and 4 of Block H of said last men- tioned tract to a point 50 feet southerly of the northwest corner of Lot 4 of said Block H, said point being the northwest corner of Tract 15881 as per map recorded in Book 347, pages 1 and 2, of Maps in the office of said Recorder; thence southerly along the westerly line of said Tract 15881 to the southwest corner thereof, said last mentioned southwest corner being the northwest corner of Lot 7, Tract 16712, as per map recorded in Book 384, page 40, of Maps in the office of said Recorder; thence southerly along the westerly line of said Lot 7 to the southwest corner thereof; thence southerly in a direct Une to the northeast corner of Lot -2- 3136 20 of said Tract 16712; thence southerly along the easterly line of said Lot 20 to the southeast corner thereof, said last mentioned southeast corner being the northwest corner of Lot 8, Block H of the previously mentioned Santa Anita Land Company's Tract; thence southerly along the westerly line of Lot 8 of said Block H and along its southerly prolongation to the southwest corner of Lot 1. Block 0 of said last mentioned tract. said last mentioned southwest corner being the northwest corner of Tract 18002, as per map re- oorded in Book 441. pages 38 and 39. of Maps in the office of said Recorder; thence in a generally easterly. southerly and westerly direction along the various courses and distances of the boundary of said Tract 18002 to the northeast corner of Lot 11 of said Tract 18002; thence southerly in a direct line to the southeast corner of said last mentioned lot; thence westerly along the southerly line of said last mentioned lot to a line that is parallel with and distant 280 feet westerly. measured at right angles. from the westerly line of Baldwin Avenue 55 feet wide as shown on said last mentioned map; thence southerly along said line parallel with and distant westerly 280 feet from the westerly line of said Baldwin Avenue to the north- erly line of Garibaldi Avenue 60 feet wide as shown on said last mentioned map; thence easterly along said northerly line 90 feet more or less to a point of intersection with the northerly pro- longation of the westerly lit1e of Lot 1. Tract 6561, as per map recorded in Book 72. pages 34 and 35. of Maps. in the office of said Recorder; thence southerly along said prolongation to the northwest corner of said Lot 1; thence southerly along the westerly line of Lots 1. 2. 3. 4. 5 and 6 of said Tract 6561 to the south- west corner of said Lot 6; thence southerly in a direct line to the northwest corner of Lot 7 of said Tract 6561; thence southerly along the westerly line of Lots 7. 8. 9 and 10 to the southwest corner of Lot 10 of said last mentioned tract; thence westerly along the northerly line of Lot 14 of said Tract 6561 to the north- west corner thereof; thence southerly along the westerly line of said Lot 14. and along its southerly prolongation to a point in the southerly line of Las Tunas Drive. as described in Final Judgment in Case No. 269.622 of the Superior Court of the State of California in and for the Count~ of Los Angeles. a certified copy of which is recorded in Book 12289, page 277 of Official Records. in the office of said Recorder; thence westerly along said southerly line to the easterly line of Rowland Avenue. 60 feet wide as described in deed to County of Los Angeles. recorded in Book 14455. page 344 of Official Records. in the office of said recorder; thence southerly along last mentioned easterly line to the northwest corner of Lot 392 of said Tract 6561; thence easterly along the northerly line of said last mentioned lot to the northeast corner thereof; thence southerly along the easterly line of Lots 392, 393 and 394 to the southeast corner of Lot 394 of said Tract 6561; thence southerly in a direct line to the northeast corner of Lot 395 of said Tract 6561; thence southerly along the easterly line of Lots 395. 396. 397. 398~ 399 and 400. to the southeast corner of Lot 400 of said Tract 6501, said corner lying in the northerly line of Live Oak Avenue (formerly Azusa Road. 60 feet wide) as shown on map of said last mentioned tract; thence easterly along the last mentioned northerly line to the westerly line of Baldwin Avenue, 55 feet wide. as shown on said last mentioned map. said westerly line be- ing the westerly boundary line of said City of Arcadia; thence generally in a northerly and westerly direction along the various oourses and distances of the westerly and southerly boundaries of said City of Arcadia to the point of beginning. -3- 3136 SECTION 3, The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolutlon and shall cause copies hereof to be filed with the State Board of Equalization of the State of California, the governing body of the Los Angeles County Fire Protection District, the County Clerk of the County of Los Angeles, the Registrar of Voters of the County of Los Angeles and the County Assessor of the County of Los Ar~eles, I HERE~Y CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the 2nd day of June , 1959, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Jacobi, Camphouse, Balser, Reibold and Phillips NOES: None ABSEN~~ : None (b~~ {/~~/l~~ J.ty er 0 the City 0 Arca ia SIGNED AND APPROVED this day of , 1959, ATTEST: , "V e;t~h~~/~~ City Clerk (SEAL) -4- 3136
