A SIGN AT 600 WEST HUNTINGTON DRIVE. . THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA; DOES FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: ~ SECTION 1. That there was filed with the City Planning Commission on the 20th day of January, 1958; the application of the Arcadia ProfeSSional Center, signed by Ralph T. Merriam, President, for a zone variance to permit the erection of a sign four fee~ seven . . . inches by six feet, mounted on a post approximately fifteen feet high, to be located at the front. property ~ine at.600 West Hunting- . , ton Drive on property in the City of ,Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as Lot 13, Tract No. 2828, as shown on Map recorded in Book 33, Page 63, of Maps, Records of Los Angeles County. That after notice as required by Ordinance No. 760 of the ~ City 6f Arcadia, as amended, a public hearing was duly held by and before said Comnlission on the 11th day of February, 1958, which said hearing was duly continued to February 25, 1958, at each of which times all persons interested were given a full opportunity to be heard and to pre,sent evidence. SECTION 2. That while there were no protests to the grant- ing of the requested variance for the erection and maintenance of. an identification sign, subject property is presently zoned R-3 and its use for the construction of an addition to the present building and .. the maintenance of a pharmacy therein is by a variance granted by Resolution No. 3000-A, adopted .May 6, 1958. That the proposed sign in an area basicany zoned R-3 would not be consistent with good planning practice and would be detrimental to property and improve- ments in the vicinity and zone in which subject property is located. -1- 3016 That the sign presently .in use complies with the requirements of the zoning ord1.nance and is adequate for the purpose of identifying the existence and location of a pharmacy on subject property. That the granting of the requested variance is not necessary for the preservation of substantial property rights of the applicant. SECTION 3. That for the foregoing reasons, the request for a zone var1,ance to permit the construction and maintenance of an identificat1,on sign upon the above described property, is hereby denied. r SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
