A lW;SOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY. OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, .
CONSENTING TO THE.COMMENCEMENT OF
PROCEEDINGS. FOR THE ANNEXATION TO
THE CITY OF ARCADIA OF CERTAIN
INrUffiITED TERRITORY IN THE,COUNTY
OF LOS. ANGELESj STATE OF CALIFORNIA,
CONTIGUOUS TO THE. CITY OF ARCADIA
AND. DESIGNATED AS ANNEXATION NO.
17 -,A SOUTHWEST ARCADIA INHABITED.

WHEREAS, on May 20, 1958, there was filed with the City
Clerk of the City of Arcadia a petition requesting the City Coun-

cil of the City of Arcadia to give its consent to the commencement
of annexation proceedings in connection with that certain inhabited
territory therein referred to and generally described, which terri-
tory is contiguous to the City of Arcadia and is hereinafter more
particularly described; which said petition was presented to the
City Council of the City of Arcadia at its regular meeting held on
May 20, 1958, at which time said petition was referred to the City
Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia for investigation and
report pursuant to Section 35107 of the California Government Code;
and,
WHEREAS, on May 27, 1958, said City Planning Commission
made its report as requested which said report was presented to
said City Council on June 4, 1958, and which said report recommended
the annexation to the City of Arcadia of the inhabited territory
contiguous to the City of Arcadia described in aforesaid petition
and hereinafter specifically set forth.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
DOES HEREBY RESOLV]; AS FOLLOWS: .

SECTION 1. That consent be and the same is hereby granted
for the commencement of annexation proceedings in connection with

the inhabited territory hereinafter described in accordance with
the Annexation Act of 1913.
SECTION 2. That said unincorporated territory be and'
the same is hereby designated as Annexation No. 17-A, Southwest
Arcadia Inhabited. That said territory is bounded generally as
follows: Westerly of Baldwin Avenue, Northerly of Live Oak Ave-
nue, Southerly of' Duarte Road 'and Easferly.of the Southerly pro-
longation of the Easterly line of. Micnillinda Boulevard; all in
"". the County of Lo~, Angeles, State of California; that said. terri-
tory and propert;y is specifically bounded' and described as fonows.:

Begj.nIi.ing at a point in .the boundary of the City of Ar-
cadia, as same existed on March 1, 1957, said point lying in the
northerly line of Lot 2, Block C, Santa Anita Land Company's Tract,
as per map recorded in Book 6, page 137, of Maps in the office of
the Recorder of Los Angeles County, 247.14 feet easterly of the
northwest corner of said Lot 2; thence southerly 327.11 feet along
a line parallel with the easterly line of said Lot 2 to the south-
erly line thereof; thence easterl~' along the southerly lines of
Lots 2 and 1 of said Block C to the southeast corner of said Lot 1;
thence easterly in a direct line to a point in the westerly line
of Lot 2, Bloc:k B of said Santa Anita Land Company's Tract, said
point lying 10.23 feet northerly from the southwest corner of said
last mentioned Lot 2; thence easterly parallel with the northerly
line of ~aid last mentioned Lot 2 a distance of 300 feet; thence
southerly parallel with the westerly line of said last mentioned
Lot 2 to the southerly line thereof; thence easterly along the
southerly lines of Lots 2 and 1 of said Block B to the southeast
corner of Lot 1 of said Block B; thence easterly in a direct line
to the southwest corner of Lot 2.of Block A of said Santa Anita
Land Company's Tract; thence 378 feet easterly along the southerly
line of Lot 2 of said Block A to a point; thence southerly along a
line, said line being parallel with the easterly line of Lot 3 of
said Block A, to a point in the southerly line of said Lot 3;
thence easterly along. said last mentioned southerly line a dis-
tance of 3 feet; thence southerly parallel with the easterly' line
of Lot 6 of said Block A to a point in the northerly line of Lot 7
of said Block Aj thence westerly along last mentioned northerly
line a distance of 15 feet; thence southerly along a line parallel
with the easterly line of said Lot 7 to the southerly line of said
last mentioned lotj thence s04utherlY in a direct line to the492 ~,

pages 4 and 5, of Maps in the office of said Recorder; thence '
southerly and easterly along the westerly and southerly boundary

point of intersection of said last mentioned southerly line with
the westerly line of Cambury Avenue, 25 feet wide as shown on map

the office of said Recorder; thence southerly in a direct line to
the southeasterly corner of Lot 12 of said last mentioned tract,
being a point in the northerly line of Lot 6 of Block G of the
previously mentioned Santa Anita Land Company's Tractj thence
easterly along the northerly line of said last mentioned Lot 6 to
the northeast corner thereof; thence southerly along the westerly
lines and along the southerly prolongation of the westerly lines
of Lots 5 and 8 of said Block G and continuing southerly along
the westerly lines of Lots 1 and 4 of Block H of said last men-
tioned tract to a point 50 feet southerly of the northwest corner
of Lot 4 of said Block H, said point being the northwest corner
of Tract 15881 as per map recorded in Book 347, pages 1 and 2, of
Maps in the office of said Recorder; thence southerly along the
westerly line of said Tract 15881 to the southwest corner thereof,
said last mentioned southwest corner being the northwest corner
of Lot 7, Tract 16712, as per map recorded in Book 384, page 40,
of Maps in the office of said Recorder; thence southerly along
the westerly line of said Lot 7 to the southwest corner thereof;
thence southerly in a direct line to the northeast corner of Lot

mentioned tract; thence westerly along the northerly line of Lot

last mentioned lot to the northeast corner thereof; thence southerly

line to the northeast corner of Lot 395 of said Tract 6561; thence

said corner lying in the northerly ,line of Live Oak Avenue (formerly
AzusaRoad, 60 feet wide) as shown on map of said last mentioned
tract; thence easterly along the last mentioned northerly line to
the westerly line of Baldwin Avenue, 55 feet wide, as shown on said
last mentioned map, said westerly line being the westerly boundary
line of said City of Arcadia; thence generally in a northerly and
westerly direction. along the various courses and distances of the
westerly and southerly boundaries of said City of Arcadia to the
point .of beginning.

SECTIOK 3. The City.Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held
on the 17th day of June
, 1958, by the affirmative vote of at
least three Councilmen, to wit:
