A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA; CALIFORNIA,
CONSENTING TO THE. COMMENCEMENT OF
PROCEEDINGS, FOR. THE ANNEXATION TO
THE CITY OF ARCADIA OF CERTAIN
INHABITED TERRITORY IN THE COUNTY
OF. LOS ANGELES, STATE OF. CALIFORNIA,
CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF ARCADIA
AND.DESIGNATED AS ANNEXATION NO.
17..A SOUTHWEST ARCADIA INHABITED.

WHEREAS" on May 20, 1958, there was filed with the City
Clerk of the City of Arcadia a petition requesting the City Coun-
cil of the City of Arcadia to give its consent to the commencement
of annexation proc:eedings in connection with that certain inhabited.
territory therein referred to and generally described, which terri-
tory is c?ntiguous to the City of Arcadia, which said petition was
presented to the City Council of the City of Arcadia at its regu-
lar meeting held on May ,20, 1958, at which time said petition was
referred to the City Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia for
investigation and report pursuant to Section 35108 of the California
Government Codej' and,

WHEREAS, on May 27, 1958, said City Planning Commission
made its repo~t as requested, which said report was presented to
said City Council on June 4,1958, and which said report recommend-.
ed the annexation to the City of Arcadia of the inhabited territory
contiguous to the City of Arcadia described in aforesaid petitionj
and,
WHEREAS, on June 17, 1958, the City Council of the City
of Arcadia passed., approved and adopted its certain Resolution No.
3024, entitled "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AR-

TERRITORY IN THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, CON-
TIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF ARCADIA .AND DESIGNATED AS ANNEXATION NO.
17-A SOUTHWEST ARCADIA INHABITED", wherein and whereby it gave its
consent to the commencement of proceedings for the annexation to
the city of Arcadia of that certain inhabited territory described
in aforesaid peti,tion; and,
WHEREAS, on June 20, 1958, pursuant to Section 35002 of
the California Government.Code, a written description of the pro-
.. posal for the.annexation of the aforesaid inhabited territory to
the City of Arcadia was filed with the Secretary of the Boundary
Commission of the County of Los Angeles, and on July 2, 1958, the
said Boundary Commission of the County of Los Angeles, prepared and
made its report upon said annexation proposal with respect to the
defin~teness and certainty of the proposed boundaries, the lines of
assessment or ownership, the creation of islands or corridors of
unincorporated territory and other similar matters affecting the

proposed boundari,es,which said report recommended the amendment
of the description of the boundaries of the inhabited territory
proposed to be annexed to the City of Arcadia as aforesaid to pro-
vide the definiteness and certainty intended under the provisions
of Section 35002 of the Government Code, but including and describ-

with respect to which the City Planning Commission made its report
on May 27, 1958 and with respect to which the City Council hereto-
fore gave its' consent to the commencement of annexation proceedings
under and pursuant to its Resolution No. 3024;
NOW, TrffiREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA;
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. Th~t consent ,be and, the same is hereby granted
and reaffirmed for the commencement of annexation proceedings in con-
nection with the j.nhabited territory hereinafter described in accord-
ance with the Annexation Act of 1913.
SECTION 2. That said unincorporated territory be and the
same is hereby deflignated as Annexation No. 17-A Southwest Arcadia
Inhabited. That said territory is bounded generally as follows:
westerly of BaldwtnAvenue, northerly of Live Oak Avenue, southerly
of Duarte Road and easterly of the southerly prolongation of the
easterly line of ~[ichillinda Boulevard, all in the County of Los
Angeles, State of California; that said territory and said property
is specifically bounded and described as follows:

Beginning at a point in the boundary of the City of Ar-
cadia, as same existed on March 1, 1957, said point lying in the
northerly line of Lot 2, Bl~ck C, Santa Anita Land Company's Tract,
as per map recorded in Book 6, page 137, of Maps in the office of
the Recorder of Los Angeles County, 247.14 feet easterly of the
northwest corner of said Lot 2; thence southerly 327.11 feet along
a line parallel with the easterly line of said Lot 2 to the south-
erly line thereof; thence easterly along the southerly lines of
Lots ,2 and 1 of said Block C to the southeast corner of said Lot 1;
.thence easterly in a direct line to a point in the westerly line
of Lot 2, Block B of said Santa Anita Land Company's Tract, said
point lying 10.23 feet northerly fr?m the southwest corner of said
last mentioned Lot 2; thence easterly parallel with the northerly
line of said last mentioned Lot 2 a distance of 300 feet; thence
southerly parallel with the westerly line of said last mentioned
Lot 2 to the southerly line thereof;; thence easterly along the
southerly lines of Lots 2 and i of said. Block B to the southeast
corner of LOt 1 of said Block B; thence easterly in a direct line
to the southwest corner of Lot 2 of Block A of said Santa Anita
Land Company's Tract; thence 378 feet easterly along the southerly
line of Lot 2 of said Block A to.a point; thence southerly along a
line, said line being parallel with the easterly line of Lot 3 of
said Block A, to a point in the southerly line of said Lot 3;
thence easterly along said last mentioned southerly line a dis-
tance of 3 feet; thence southerly parallel with the easterly line
of Lot 6 of said Block A to a point in the northerly line of Lot 7
of said Block A; thence westerly along last mentioned northerly
line a distance of 15 feet; thence southerly along a line parallel
with the easterly line of said Lot 7 to the southerly line of said
last mentioned lot; thence southerly in a direct line to the \
northwest corner of Tract 19413 as per map recorded in Book 492, .,
pages 4 and 5, of Maps in the office of said Recorder; thence <
southerly and easterly along the westerly and southerly boundary
lines of said last mentioned tract to a point in the southerly
line qf Lot 7 of said last mentioned tract, said point being the
point of intersection of said last mentioned southerly line with
the westerly line of Cambury Avenue, 25 feet wide as shown on map
of Tract 15797 recorded in Book 382, pages 38 and 39 of Maps in
the office of said Recorder; thence southerly in a direct line to
the southeasteJ~ly corner of Lot 12 of said last mentioned tract,
being a point in the northerly line of. Lot 6 of Block G of the
previously mentioned Santa Anita Land Company's Tract; thence
easterly along the northerly line of said last mentioned Lot 6 to
the northeast corner thereof; thence southerly along the westerly
lines and along the southerly prolongation of the westerly lines
of Lots 5 and 8 of said Block G and continuing southerly along
the westerly lines of Lots 1 and 4 of Block H of said last men-
tioned tract to a point 50 feet southerly of the r.orthwest corner

of Tract 15881 as per map recorded in Book 347, pages 1 and 2, of
Maps in the office of said Recorder; thence southerly along the
westerly line of said Tract 15881 to the southwest corner thereof,

direction along the various courses and distances of the boundary
of said Tract 18002 to the northeast corner of Lot 11 of said Tract
18002; thence southerly in a direct line to the southeast corner of

said last mentioned lot to a line that is parallel with and distant
280 feet westerly. measured at right angles. from the westerly line
of Baldwin Avenue 55 feet wide as shown on said last mentioned mapi

erly line of Garibaldi Avenue 60 feet wide as shown on said last
mentioned map; thence easterly along said northerly line 90 feet
more or less to a point of intersection with the northerly pro-

recorded in Book 72. pages 34 and 35. of Maps. in the office of
said Recorder; thence southerly along said prolongation to the

line of Lots 1. 2. 3. 4. 5 and 6 of said Tract 6561 to the south-
west corner of said Lot 6; thence southerly in a direct line to the
northwest corner of Lot 7 of said Tract 6501; thence southerly
along the westerly line of Lots 7. 8. 9 and 10 to the southwest

Official Records, in the office of said recorder; thence southerly
along last mentioned easterly line to the northwest corner of Lot
392 of said Tract 6561; thence easterly along the northerly line of
said last mentioned lot to the northeast corner thereof; thence
southerly along the easterly line of Lots 392. 393 and 394 to the
southeast corner of Lot 394 of said Tract 6561; thence southerly
in a direct line to the northeast corner of Lot 395 of said Tract
6561; thence southerly along the easterly line of Lots 395. 396.

Tract 65bl, said corner lying in the northerly line of Live Oak
Avenue (formerly Azusa Road. 60 feet wide) as shown on map of said
last mentioned tract; thence easterly along the last mentioned
northerly line to the westerly line of Baldwin Avenue. 55 feet
wide. as shown on said last mentioned map. said westerly line be-
ing the westerly boundary line of said City of Arcadia; thence .
generally in a northerly and westerly direction along the various
courses and distances of the westerly and southerly boundaries of
said City of Arcadia to the point of beginning.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held
on the 15th day of July
. 1958, by the affirmative vote of at
least three Councilmen, to wit:
