A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
ORDERING THE FORMATION OF A LIGHTING
MAINTENANCE DISTRICT, DESIGNATED AS
. "LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO.
13", TO PAY THE COSTS AND EXPENSES
FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF
A STREET LIGHTING SYSTEM ON PORTIONS
OF MONTE PLACE, CANYON ROAD, CIELO
PLACE, LEE AVENUE, LA RAMADA AVENUE,
SECOND AVENUE, WINNIE WAY, ANDREWS
ROAD, HAVEN AVENUE, NEWMAN AVENUE,
LORENA AVENUE, EL MONTE AVENUE, PALM
DRIVE, HUNGATE LANE, NINTH AVENUE,
MAGNOLIA LANE, EIGHTH AVENUE, SANDRA
AVENUE, MAGNA VISTA AVENUE, THIRD"

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
HEREBY DETERMINE, ORDER" FIND AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. That pursuant to the provisions of Resolution
of Intention No. 3090, passed, approved and adopted December 16,
1958, and after a public hearing on the matter in conformance with
the provisions of the Municipal Lighting Maintenance District Act
of 1927, being Division 14, Part 3, of the Streets and Highways Code
of the State of California, it is hereby ordered that a 'lighting
maintenance distr:lct be and the same.is hereby formed and that the
boundaries of such lighting maintenance district, which district is
to pay the cost and expenses for the maintenance and operation of a
street lighting system on portions of Monte Place,Canyon Road,
Cielo Place, Lee Avenue, La Ramada Avenue, Second Avenue, Winnie

Way, Andrews Road,. Haven Avenue, Newman Avenue, Lorena Avenue, El
Monte Avenue, Palm Drive, Hungate Lane, Ninth Avenue, Magnolia Lane,
Eighth Avenue, Sandra Avenue, Magna Vista Avenue, Third Avenue,
Louise Avenue, P~nela Road, Santa Anita Terrace, Camino Real Avenue,

Ivyland Avenue, Ilirchcroft street,' South View Road and Fairview Ave-
nue in said City, over and above the fifty percent (50%) of the
total maintenance and operation costs and expenses thereof to be
paid out of the treasury of. the City of " Arcadia from the general
fund of said Cit~', shall be-and the same,are hereby finally estab-
lished in conformance with and shown on that certain-map entitled
"Diagram of Lighting Maintenance District No. 13", her~tofore pre-
pared by ~he City Engineer and approved and adopted by Resolution
No. 30~9_ of the City Council of the C~ty'ofArcadia on December 16,
1958, and' on file in the office ~f the City Clerk of said City. That
the boundaries of said Lighting Maintenance District No. .13 and the
properties included therein are defined, bounded and described as
follows:

Parcel No. 13-1. Beginning at the southwest corner of
Lot 1, Tract No. 22220, as per map recorded in Book 626, pages 32
and 33, of Maps in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles
County, thence northerly along the westerly line of said. lot to the
northwest corner thereof; thence northerly along the northerly pro-
longation of said westerly line 20 feet to a point in the northerly
line of the alley contiguous to the northerly line of said Lot 1;
thence easterly along said northerly al~c~ line to the northeast
corner of said Tract No. 22220; thence in a generally southerly,
westerly and easterly direction along the easterly boundary of said
Tract No. 22220 to the northeast corner of Lot 27, Tract No. 2731
per map recorded in Book 33,'page 29, of Maps in the office of said
recorder; thence southerly along the easterly line of Lot 27 of
said Tract No. 2731 to the northerly line of Fairview n.venue 60
feet wi~e; thence westerly along the last mentioned northerly line
to a point 70 feet east of the westerly line of Lot 28 of sald
Tract No. 2731; thence 270.05 feet, more or' less, northerly paral-
lel with the westerly line of said Lot 28 to the northerly line
thereof; thence northwest in a direct line to a point in the south-
erly line of Lot 6 of previously mentioned Tract No. 22220, said
polnt being 20 feet easterly of the southwest corner of said
Lot 6; thence northerly parallel to the westerly line of said
Lot 6 to a polnt in the southerly line of Lot 1 of said Tract No.
22220, said point being 4.33 feet easterly of the southwest corner

Tract No. 24031 per map recorded in Book 626, pages 92 and 93, of
Maps in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County; thence
easterly along the northerly line of said tract and along lts east-
erly prolongation to the west 11ne of Santa Anita Avenue 100 feet
wide; thence southerly 322.50 feet along said wes terly l:1.ne; thence
westerly 150.01 feet along a line parallel with the previously men-
tioned northerly line of said 'tract to the southeast corner of'Lot 12
of said tract; thence westerl"' along the southerly lines of Lots 12
and 11 of said tract to the southwest corner of said Lot 11; thence
northerly 90.5 feet along the westerly line of said Lot 11; thence
westerly 74.00 feet along a line parallel with the southerly line of

a line parallel with the east line of said Tract 0.13 feet; thence
easterly along a line parallel with the center line of Camino Real
Avenue 87.5 feet; thence northerly along a J.lne parallel to the east
line of said Tract No. 21341 14.5 feet; thence easterly parallel
with said center line to a point in the west line of Lot 6, Tract

in the office of the Recorder of said County; thence southerly along
the west line of said Tract No. 16741 to the southwest corner of
Lot 15'of said Tract No. 16741; thence westerly' along the south line

Parcel No. 13-4. Beginning at the southeast corner of
Lot 1, Tract No. 16593, per map recorded in. Book 401, pages 5 and 6,
of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County; thence
northerly, easterly, southerly, westerly along the various courses
and distances of the boundary of said tract to the point of begin-
ning.
Parcel No. 13-5. Beginning at the southwest corner of
Lot 1, Tract No. 24461, per map recorded in Book 630, pages 84 and
85, of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County;
thence northerly, easterly and southerly along the westerly, north-
erly and easterly lines of said Tract No. 24461 to the southeast
corner of Lot 6 thereof; thence easterly 49.14 feet along the
easterly prolongation of the southerly line of said Lot 6; thence
southerly along a line parallel with the west line of Second Ave-

Parcel No. 13-7. Beginning at the northwest corner of

and 15. of Maps. in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles
County; thence easterly and southerly along the various courses
and distances of said tract to the northerly line of Camino Real
60 feet wid.; thence westerly on said northerly line 302.65 feet
to a point in the south line of Lot 22, Arcadia Acreage Tract, per
map recorded in Book 10, page 18, of Maps, in the office of the
recorder of said county; thence north parallel with the westerly
line of said Lot 22 187.80 feet to a point in the south line of
Lot 9, Tract No. 21741, per map recorded in Book 635, pages 69 and
70, of Maps, in the office of the recorder of said county; thence
westerly parallel with the said northerly line of Camino Real Ave-

.easterly along the easterly line of Canyon Road to a point of inter-
section with the southwesterly prolongation of the.northwesterly line
of Lot 55 of said tract; thence northeasterly along last mentioned
prolongation to the southwesterly corner of said Lot 55; thence north-

Parcel No. 13-13. Beginning at the southeast corner of Lot 1,

in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, proceeding north-
erly, westerly, southeasterly and easterly along the various courses
ani distances of'tile boundary of said tract to the point of beginning.

SECTION 2. That the items of expense of maintenance and
operation of the aforesaid street lighting system agreed to be fur-
nished and the estimated cost thereof for the first year, commencing
July 1, 1959, are as follows: electr:ic power, repalrs, replacements,
maintenance, labor, materials, engineering, printing and advertising;
that the estimated amount of electric 'power necessary "for said system
in said district for each year is forty-five thousand eight hundred
and two (45,802) kilowatt hours and the estimated cost of said
electric power for the first year of maintenance and operation is
the sum of three thousand one hundred fifty dollars and forty cents
($3,150.40).

SECTION 3. That the percentage of the total expenses of
the aforesaid maintenance and operation to be paid by the aforesaid
district, as set forth in aforesaid Resolution No. 3090 of the City
Council of the City of Arcadia, shall be paid by 'special assessment
taxes levied upon all lands, exclusive of improvements, within said
district as hereinabove formed and established.
SECTION 4. That fifty percent (50%) of the total 'expenses
of maintenance and operation of said district shall be paid out of
the treasury of the City of Arcadia from the general fund of said
City and the remainder of the total expenses of maintenance of said
district shall'be paid by said district.
SECTION 5. That a certified copy of this Resolution shall
be filed with the Assessor who makes the assessments for. the general
city taxes, and thereafter the Assessor in making up the city assess-
--- ment roll shall segregate the property included within the district
hereby formed on the assessment roll under. the district designation
contained in the resolution, to wit: "Lighting Maintenance District
No. 13."

SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held
on the 20th. day of January

at least three Councilmen, to wit:
