RESOLUTION OF AVARD No. 306
Vfhereas, the Board of Trustees of the City of Arcadia, did
in open session, on the 7th day of July 1926, publicly open, ex~ine
and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing the following streei
work and improvement in said City of Arcadia.. ,to-wit:
First: That a concrete curb be constructed along the
Northerly side of the roadway of Haven Avenue from a line'drawn across
said Haven Avenue ten (10) feet Easterly from and parallel with the
Easterly line of First Avenue prolonged Southerly in a direct line
across said Haven Avenue, to the intersection of Haven Avenue and
Lorena ,Avenue; also that a concrete curb be constructed along the
gesterly side of the roadway of said Lorena Avenue from the intersec-
tion of said Haven Avenue and Lorena Avenue with the Northerly line
of Orange Avenue prolonged Easterly in a direct line across said
Lorena Avenue, including returns at the Alley on said Lorena Avenue
and in the intersection of said Lorena Avenue with Haven Avenue;
Second: That a portion of the roadway along the Northerly
side of said Haven Avenue from a line drawn across said Haven Avenue
ten (10) feet ~asterly from and parallel with the ~asterly line of
First Avenue prolonged Southerly in a direct line across said Haven
Avenue to the intersection of said Haven Avenue and Lorena Avenue, be
graded and paved with a three inch oil macadam pavement two feet in
width.
Third: That that portion of the roadway of said Lorena
Avenue lying between the ~ester1y curb line thereof and the existing
oil macadam pavement on the ~asterly side of the Roadway of said
Lorena Avenue be graded and paved with a three inch oil macadam pavement.
SECTION 2: That the grade to which the work herelnRsfore de-
scribed Shall be clone and the improvement made as provided in this
Hesolution, is that shown on ?rofi1e and Improvement Plan No. 0-129, on
file in the off'ice of the City ~~gineer of said City, to which Profile
~ reference is hereby made for the description of such grade.

SSCTION 3: All of the foregoing ~ork shall be done in ac-
cordance with said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-129, on file in
the office of the City Engineer of said City of Arcadia.
Said work shall also be in accordance with the following
Specifica~ions on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City of
Arcadia, to-wit:
Standard Specifications No. 0 for the construction of curbs,
side~a1ks, gutters, oil macadam pavement and concrete pavement;
Said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-129 and the Specifi-
cations hereinabove referred to, were adopted by Hesolution No. 295 of
said Board of Trustees and the same are hereby made a part of this Reso-
lution and are hereby referred to for a more particular description of
said work.

All Streets, Ave~ues and Alleys reterred to in this Reso-
lution are public streets, Avenues and Alleys of said City of Arcadia.
SECTION 4: Said Board of Trustees also determines and
declareo that Serial Bonds Shall be issued to represent each assessment
of Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars or more remaining unpaid for twenty
(20) days after the date of the Warrant to represent the e~penses of
said work and improvement.
Said Serial Bonds shall e~tend over a
periOd ending nine (9) years from the second day of January next suc-
ceeding the fifteenth day of the next November following their date
and an even annual proportion of the principal sum thereof shall be
,payable by coupon on the second day of January every year after the
fifteenth day of the next Uovember fOllowing their date, until the
whole is paid and the interest shall be payable semi-annually by coupon,
on the second days of January and July, respectively, of each year
after their date at the rate of Ct!"~11 (7) per, cent per annum on all
sums unpaid until the whole of said principal and interest are paid.
SECTION 5: All of the ~roceedings for the aforesaid im-
provement and for the issuance of said Bonds, shall be had and taken
under and in accordance with an Act of the Legislature of the State of

California, known and designated as, the Improvement Act of 1911," ap-
proved April 7, 1911, and of all Acts supplementary thereto or amend-
atpry thereof.

Board of Trustees, declaring its intention to order said work to be
done, fo,r further partic'Jlars, which Resolution of Intention is on
file in the office of the City Clerk of said City of Arcadia.
Resolved: That said Board of Trustees hereby rejects all
of said proposals or bids except that next herein,rnentioned and here-
by awards the contract for doing said work and improveoent to the low-
est. regular. responsible bidder therefor. to-wit:
To Joseph H. Coombs
at the prices mentioned in his proposal on file for said work and
improvement.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of this
award twice in the
Arcadia News
a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City of Arcadia
and hereby designated for that purpose by said Board of Trustees.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Reso-
lutlon.
The foregoing Resolution wus adopted at a regular meeting
of the Board of Trustees of the City of Arcadia, held on the 7th day
of July 1926, by the affirmative vote of at least four Trustees. to-
wit:
