RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. .3 ~ II-
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE A PORTION OF NORMAN AVENUE IN
SAID CITY OF ARCADIA AND DECLARING SAID WORK OR IMPROVEMENT TO BE
OF MORE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC BENEFIT AND DESCRIBING THE
DISTRICT TO BE BENEFITTED BY SAID WORK OR IMPROVEMENT AND TO BE
ASSESSED TO PAY THE COO TS AND EXPENSES THEREOF AND DETERMINING
THAT SERIAL BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT SAID COSTS AND
EXPENSES AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO
SAID WORK OR IMPROVEMENT .OR TO THE EXTENT OF THE DISTRICT TO BE
ASSESSED OR BOTH.
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1:
That the publio interest and oonvenienoe require
and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of said City of
Aroadia to order the following work and improvement to be done in
said City of Aroadia. to-wit:
FIRST :
That a oonorete ourb be oonstruoted in said
Norman Avenue from the Westerly line of said Holly Avenue to the
said Easterly line of said Baldwin Avenue in said City of Aroadia
along a line parallel to and ten (10) feet Northerly from the'
Southerly line of said Norman Avenue. inoluding returns at Holly
Avenue and Norman Avenue: Baldwin Avenue and Norman Avenue. exoept-
ing where a oonorete ourb is already laid and oonstruoted in said
portion of Norman Xvenue to the offioial line and grade and is now
in good oondition.
SECOND:
That a oonorete ourb be oonstruoted in Norman
Avenue from the Westerly line of Holly Avenue to the Easterly line
of said Baldwin Avenue in said City of Aroadia along a line parallel
to .and ten (10) feet Southerly from the Northerly line of said
Norman Avenue inoluding returns at Holly Avenue and Norman Avenue:
Lovell Avenue and Norman Avenue. and Baldwin 'Avenue and Norman
Avenue, exoept where a oonorete ourb is already laid and oonstruoted
in said portion of Norman Avenue to the offioial line and grade and
is now in good oondition.
THIRD: That that portion of the roadway of said Norman

Avenue from the Westerly lifie -O~Hoil.Y Avenue to the Easterly line
of the pavement now in place on Baldwin Avenue twenty (20) feet on
either side of the existing center line of said Norman Avenue be
graded and paved with an oil maoadam pavement four (4") inohes
thick exoept where an oil maoadam pavement ~ not less than four
(4") inohes thick is already oonstruoted in said portion of Norman ~/

Avenue and also exoept at the interseotions of Lovell Avenue and
Norman Avenue.
FOURTH: That the grade to whioh the work hereinbefore
desoribed shall be done and the improvement made as provided in
this Resolution is that shown on Profile and Improv6ent Plan
No. C-132 on file in the Offioe of the City Engineer of said
City of Aroadia to which profile reference is hereby made for
the desoription of suoh ~rade.
FIFTH: All of the foregoing work shall be done in
aooordance with said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-132 on
file in the Offioe of the City Engineer of said City of Aroadia.
Said work shall also be in aooordanoe with the following speoifioa-
tions on file in the Office of the City Clerk of said City of
Aroadia. $o-wit:
Standard Specifioations No. 0 for the oonstruotion of ourbs,
sidewalks, gutters. oil ma~adam pavement and conorete pavement.
Said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-132 and Speoifioa-
tions hereinabove referred to were adopted by Resolution No. ~~J'
of said Board of Trustees and the same are hereby made a part of
this Resolution and are hereby referred to for a more partioular
desoription of said work.
All streets. boulevards and avenues referred to in this
Resolution are publio streets. boulevards and avenues of said
City of Aroadia.
SIXTH: That said contemplated work and improvement in
the opinion of the Board of Trustees of the said City of Aroadia
is of more than looal or ordinary public benefit and said Board
of Trustees hereby makes the expenses of said work and imppove-
ment ohargeable upon a district, which distriot said Board of
Trustees hereby deolares to be the district benefitted by said
work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and
expenses thereof. which said distriot is bounded and described
as follows:

the following described exterior boundaries, to-wit:

in said City of Aroadia. County of Los Angeles. State of California,
as per map reoorded in Book 52. Page 13. Misoellaneous Reoords of

to the northwest corner of lot 8
19 to 8 inclusive~in said traot: thenoe in a Westerly direot line
to the Northeast oorner of Lot 7 of said traot No. 4869: thenoe

SECTION 2:
Said Board of Trustees also determines and
deolares that Serial Bonds shall be issued to represent eaoh assess-
ment at Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars or more remaining unpaid for
twenty days after the date of the Warrant to represent the expenses
of said work and 1.mppcrement. Said Serial Bonds shall extend over a
period ending nine (9) years from the seoond day of January next
suooeeding the fifteenth day of the next November following their
date and an even annual proportion of the prinoipal sum thereof
shall. be payable by ooupon. on the second day of January. every
year after the fifteenth day of the next November following their
date. until the whole is paid and the interest shall be payable
semi-annually by ooupon on the seoond days of January and July
respeotively of eaoh year after their date at the rate of seven
(7) per oent per annum on all sums unpaid until. the whole of said
principal and interest are paid. '
SECTION 3:
Notioe is hereby given that on Wednesday,
the sixth day of October. 1926. at the hour of eight o'olock P.M.
of said day. in the Counoil Chamber of the Board of Trustees of

said City of Aroadia in the City Hall of said City, any and all
persons having any objeotions to said proposed work or improve-
ment or to the extent of the Distriot to be assessed or both.
may appear before said Board of Trustees and show cause why said
proposed work or improvement should not be oarried out in aooord-
anoe with this Resolution.
SECTION 4:
All of the prooeedings for the aforesaid
work and improvement and for the issuanoe of said Bonds shal.l be
had and taken under and in aooordanoe with the provisions of an
Aot of the Legislature of the State of California, known and
designated as. the "Improvement Act of 1911", approved April 7.
1911. and of all Aots supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof.

SECTION 5: The Superintendent of Streets shall ~~ or
oause to be posted oonspiouously along the line of said oontem-
plated work or improvement and also along all the open streets
within the Distriot liable to be assessed and hereinabove des-
oribed, notioes of the passage of this Resolution in the manner
and form required by law.
SECTION 0:
The City Cl.erk shall oertify to the passage
of this Resolution and shall oause the same to be published twioe

published and oiroulated in said City of Aroadia and hereby
designated for that purpose. Said Board of Trustees does not
deem it advisable that the City Clerk mail oopies of"Notioe of
Impro~ent" to the owners or reputed owners of property within the
said Assessment Distriot and the mailing of s~oh notioes is hereby
dispenses with.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meetng
of the Board of Trustees of the City of Arcadia, held on the 15th
day of September, 1920, by the affirmative vote of at l.east three
Trustees. to-wit:
