RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 33~
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOAIl.D OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE A PORTION OF OWEN AVENUE IN SAID
CITY OF ARCADIA AND DETER1!INING THAT SERIAL BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED
TO REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEAR-
ING OBJECTIONS TO SAID PROPOSED ITORK OR IMPROVEAmNT.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Arcadia do resolve as
follows:
SECTION 1:
That the public interest and convenience require
and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of said City of
Aroadia to order the following worle and improvement to be Elone in
said City of Arcadia, to-wit:
FIRST:
That a oonrete curb be constructed in said Owen
Avenue from the Westerly line of Santa Anita Avenue to the Westerly
end of Owen Avenue in said City of Arcadia, along a line parallel

to and tll.: (12)> feet Northerly from the Southerly line of said Owen
Avenue, exoept wheret a ooncrete curb is already laid and construot-
ed in said portion of Owen Avenue, to the offioial line and grade and
is now in good oondition.
SECOND:
That a conerete curb be construoted in Owen Avenue
from the Westerly line of Santa Anita Avenue to the Westerly end of
Owen Avenue of said City of Arcadia, along a line parallel to and ty{~lve
(12) feet Southerly from the Northerly line of said Owen Avenue,
except where a concrete ourb is already laid and constructed in said
portion of Owen Avenue to'the official line and grade and is now in
good condition.
THIRD:
That that portion of the roadway of said Owen Avenue
between the Westerly line of Santa Anita Avenue and said Westerly end
of Owen Avenue be graded and paved with ax oil macadam three (3) inches

thick between the Southerly curb line and the pavement now in place in
said portion of Owen Avenue, except where an oil macadam pavement has
already been construoted in said portion of Owen Avenue to the official
line and grade and is in good condition and that that portion of the
roadway of said Owen Avenue from the Westerly line of Santa Anita
Avenue to the Westerly end of Owen Avenue be graded and paved with oil
macadam three (3) inches thick between the Northerly ourb line of said
Owen Avenue and. the pavement now in place in said portion of Owen Avenue
except where an oil macadam pavement has already been constructed in said
portion of Owen Avenue to the official line and grade and is now in good
condit ion.

SECTION 2:
That the grade to which the work hereinbefore
described shall be done and the improvement made as provided in this
Resolution is that shown in Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-134,
on file in the office of the City Engineer of said' City, to which
Profile reference is hereby made for the description of such grade.
SECTION 3:
All of the foregoing work shall be done in accord-
ance with said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-134, on file in the
office of the City Engineer of said City of l~cadia.
Said work shall also be in accordance with the following Specifica-
tions on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City of Arcadia,
to-wit:
Standard Specifications No. 0 for the construction of curbs, side-
walks, gutters, oil macadam pavement and conorete pavement.
Said Profile and Improvement Plan No. 0-134 a~d the Specitications
a11~ ).I>_~':'al iJ..._\llIl~..LhlHj , hereinabove referred to, were adopted
by Resolution NO..m of said Board of Trustees, and the same are
hereby made a part of this Resolution and are hereby referred to for
a more particular description of said work.
All Streets" Boulevards, and Avenues referred to in this Resolu-
tion are public streets, boulevards and avenues in said City of Arcadia.
SECTION 4:
That said contemplated work and improvement in the
opinion of the Board of Trustees of said City of Arcadia, is of more
than local or ordinary public benefit and said Board of Trustees hereby
makes the expense of said work and improvement chargeable upon a District,
which Distriot said Board of Trustees hereby declares to be the District
benefitted by said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the
costs and expenses thereof, which said District is bounded am described
as follows:
All that portion of said City of Arcadia inoluded within the follow-
ing described exterior boundary lines, to-wit:
Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot 3, Tract 4357 in the City
of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, state of California, as per Map
recorded in Map Book 114, Page 66, Records of said County of Los Angeles,

North~ast corner of said Lot 1 of Tract 4357: thence Westerly along the
Northerly line of said Lot 1 and 4 to 18, both inclusive, to the North-
west corner of Lot 18 of said Tract 4357: thenoe Southerly along the

Westerly line of Lot 18 to the Southwest corner of said Lot 18:
thence in a direct Southerly direction to the Northwest corner of
Lot 19 of said Tract 4357: thence Southerly along the West line
of said Lot 19 to the Southwest corner of said Lot 19 of said
Tract 4357: thence Easterly along the Southerly line of Lots
19 to 33, both inclusive, and Lot 36 to the Southeast cerner of
said Lot 36 of said Tract 4357: thenoe Northerly along the East-
erly line of Lots 36 to 34. both inolusive. to the Northeast
corner of Lot 34 of said Tract 4357: thence in a direct Northerly
direotion to place of beginning.
The above description is general only. A Plat or Map of
said District indicating by a boundary line the extent of the
territory included in the proposed Assessment District is on file
in the office of said City Engineer. Reference is hereby made to
the said Plat or Map for a further, full and complete description
of the said Assessment District. The said Plat or Map shall
govern for all details as to the extent of such Assessment Distriat.
SECTION 5:
Said Board of Trustees hereby determines and
declares that S@rial Bonds shall be issued to represent each assess-
ment of Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars or more remai ning unpaid for
twenty (20) days after the date of the warrant to represent the
expenses of said work and improvement. Said Serial Bonds shall
extend over a period mf ending nine (9) years from the second day of
January next suoceeding the fifteenth day of the next November.
following their date and an even annual proportion of the principal
sum thereof shall be PBWable by ooupon on the second day of January
every year after the fifteenth day of the next November following
their date. until the whole is paid and the interest shall be
payable semi-annually by ooupon on the second days of January and
July respectively of each year after their date at the rate of
seven per cent per annum on all sums unpaid until the whole of said
principal and interest are paid.
SECTION 6:
Notice is hereby given that on Wednesday, the
17th day of November, 1926, at the hour of eight o'clock P. M. of
said day, in the Council Chamber of the

extent of the District to be assessed
having any objections to said proposed work or improvement,or the
or both, may appear before said Board of Trustees and show cause
why said proposed work or improvement should not be carried out
in acoordance with this Resolution.
SECTION 7:
All proceedings for the aforesaid work and
improvement and fer the issuance of said b ends shall be had and
taken under and in accordance with the provisions of an Act of
the Legislature of the State of California, known and designated
as the "Improvement Aot of 1911", approved April 7, 1911, and of
all Acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof.
SECTION 8:
The Superintendent of streets shall post or
cause to be posted oonspicuously along the line of said con-
templated work or improvement, notices of the passage of this
Resolution in the manner and form required by law.
SECTION 9:
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this Resolution and shall cause the same to be published twice
in The Arcadia News, a weekly newspaper published ani circulated
in said City of Arcadia and hereby designated for that purpose.
Said Board of Trustees does not deem it advisable that the City
Clerk mail copies of ~1otice of Improvementft to the owners or
reputed owners of property to be assessed for suoh proposed work
or improvement, and the mailing of such notices if hereby
dispensed with.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting
of the Board of Trustees of the City of Arcadia, held on the
20th day of Ootober, 1926, by the affirmative vote of at least
three Trustees, to-wit: .
