HomeMy WebLinkAbout2980 RESOLUTION NO. 2980 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION IN SAID CITY ON THE 8TH DAY OF APRIL, 1958; DESIGNATING THE OFFICES TO BE FILLED AT SAID ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR THE POLLING PLACES FOR THE HOLDING OF SUCH AN ELECTION, APPOINTING THE ELECTION OFFICERS FOR THE SAME AND FIXING THEIR COl1PENSATION. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTIIN 1. That, pursuant to Section 1000 of the Arcadia City Charter, a general municipal election be and the same is hereby called to be held in the City of Arcadia, State of California, on Tuesday the 8th day of April, 1958, for the purpose of electing the following officers, to wit: Three (3) members of the City Council of said City of Arcadia to hold office for the full term or period of four (4) years from and after the 15th day of April, 1958. SECTION 2. That for the purpose of holding said election there shall be and are hereby established thirty (30) election pre- cincts designated as hereinafter stated. That the polling places for the respective precincts shall be the plac$hereinafter desig- nated, and that the persons hereinafter named, being competent and qualified electors and residents of said City, and of their re- spective election precincts, are hereby appointed officers of elec- tion for their respective election precincts, and they shall hold said election and make return thereof in the manner provided by law. ELECTION OFFICERS AND POLLING PLACES Voting Precinct 1 shall comprise state and county pre- cincts Nos. 28, 54 and 71. That the polls for said election shall be opened at 7:00 o'clock a.m. on the day of said election and shall remain open continuously from said time until 7:00 o'clock p.m. of said day. SECTION 4. That said general municipal election shall be held in accordance with the provisions of the City Charter of the City of Arcadia and in accordance with the provisions of the Elec- tions Code of the State of California pertaining to General Law Cities insofar as the same are not in conflict with said City Charter. SECTION 5. That the compensation to be paid for each poll- ing place used in said general municipal election shall be and the -6- 2980 same is hereby fixed at the sum of Twelve Dollars ($12.00). That the compensation to be paid to each inspector here.inabove mentioned for all serviceEl by each inspector to be rendered at said general municipal election shall be and the same is hereby fixed at the sum of Fifteen Dollars ($15.00). That the compensation to be paid to each of the othElr aforesaid officers of election for all services rendered by each of said other officers at said general municipal election shall l>e and the same is hereby fixed at the sum of Twelve Dollars ($12.00). SECTION 6. That said City Council will meet in the Council Chambers of the Arcadia City Hall on Tuesday, April 15, 1958, at the hour of 8:00 o'elock p.m., to canvass the returns of said election and declare the results thereof. SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolut:Lon.
