J,. ~,. 0' RESOLUTION NO. 2809 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING A VARIANCE TO PERMIT AUTOMOBILE PARKING AT THE REAR OF 547 WORK}~N AVENUE AND 2714 SOUTH BALDvTIN AVENUE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOvlS: SECTION 1. That there was filed with the City Planning Commission on July 10, 1956, the application of Thos. E. Brooks, Le Etta May Brooks and Ralph D. Stogsdill, as owners, for a zone variance to permit the following described property in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, to wit: The north 41 feet of Lot 40 and the East 111.85 feet of Lot 41, Tract No. 6641, as shown on map recorded in Book 126, page 67, of Maps, records of said County, (WhiCh is the rear portion of property located at 547 Workman Avenue and 2714 South Baldwin Avenue) to be used for automobile parking for business located on Las Tunas Drive, and to allow the erection of a six-foot wire fence along the south side of Lot 41 in lieu of the required masonry wall. That after notice as required by Ordinance No. 760, as wnended, of the City of Arcadia, a publiC hearing was duly held by and before said Commission on August 14, 1956, at which time all interested persons were given a full opportunity to be heard and to present evidence. That upon the conclusion of said hearing, said Commission adopted its certain Resolution No. 226, wherein and whereby it made certain findings and recommendations to this Council. SECTION 2. That there were no protests, either oral or written, to the granting of said application. That while the prop- erty is zoned R-l, there is need for more off-street parking for the business located on Las Tunas Drive. That the public welfare and -1- 2809 ~ . '" . < . " . " J.,.... ~ .' convenience reasonably require the requested variance and such use will not be inconsistent with good planning practice, nor with the provisions of the master zoning plan, nor with the present or prospective development of the immediate neighborhood. SECTION 3. That for the foregoing reasons, a variance is hereby granted to permit the use of the property hereinabove described for automobile parking upon the condition that a six- foot masonry wall be erected adjacent to the residential property instead of the requested wire fence. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
