RESOLUTION NO. 2810
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
GRANTING A VARIANCE TO PERMIT THE
ERECTION AND OPERATION OF AN AUTOMOBILE
LAUNDRY AT 66 l'iEST LAS TUNAS DRIVE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLO\'lS:
SEC'l'ION 1. That there was filed with the City Planning
Commission on July 3, 1956, the application of Herbert Kalliwoda, as
owner, for a zone variance to permit the following described prop-
erty in the State of California, County of Los Angeles, to wit:
The easterly 100 feet of the westerly 300 feet
of Lot 69, Santa Anita Colony Tract, as shown
on map recorded in Book 42, page 87, Miscellane-
ous Records of Los Angeles County,
located at 66 West Las Tunas Drive, to be used for the erection and
operation of an automobile laundry. That after notice as required
by Ordinance No. 760, as amended, of the City of Arcadia, a public
hearing was duly held by and before said Commission on July 24,
1956, which hearing was duly continued to August 14, 1956, at which
times all interested persons were given a full opportunity to be
heard and to present evidence. That upon the conclusion of said
hearing, said ~ommisSbn adopted its certain Resolution No. 227,
wherein and whereby it made certain findings and recommendations to
this Council.
SECTION 2. That there were no protests, either oral or
'written, to the granting of the requested variance. That although
subject property is presently zoned C-2, the area in which it is
located is alr~ady under consideration for possible rezoning to C-M.
That property to the north in the City of Arcadia and property to
the south in county territory is presently zoned C-3. That the pub-
lic welfare and convenience reasonably require the requested

variance and that under certain conditions hereinafter specified,
such variance would not be inconsistent with good planning practirre,
nor with the provisions of the master zoning plan, nor with the
present or prospective development of the neighborhood in which the
property is located, nor would it be detrimental or injurious to
other properties and improvements in the same vicinity and zone.
SECTION 3. That for the foregoing reasons, a variance is
hereby granted to permit the erection and operation of an automobile
laundry at 66 West Las Tunas Drive upon the real property hereina-
bove described upon the following conditions:
a. That a revised plot plan and an architectural render-
ing of the building be approved by the Staff and Planning Commission,
and that all ~mprovements on the subject property substantially com-
ply with the plot plan and architectural design thus approved by
the Planning Commission.
b. That all compressors, boilers and exhaust fans be con-
structed and naintained in a closed section of the structure and
adequately soundproofed, all to the satisfaction of the Building De-
partment and the Planning Commission.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held
en the 18th
day of September ,1956, by the affirmative vote
of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
