RESOLUTION NO. 2843
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARC~DIA, CALIFORNIA, FINDING THAT THE PUBLIC CON-
VENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE IMPROVEMENT OF
THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF LAUREL AVENUE BETWEEN
SECOND AVENUE AND WIGWAM AVENUE, ALL IVITHIN THE
CITY OF ARCADIA.
WHEREAS, a public hearing has been held duly and regularly,
pursuant to Resolution No, 2829 and the laws and Constitution of the
State of California, on the proposed improvement of the first alley south
of Laurel Avenue between Second Avenue and Wigwam Avenue by the grading,
preparing subgrade) paving and construction of concrete curbs, gutters
and aprons, and appurtenant work thereto; and
WHEREAS, said improvement has been considered fully:
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the said City Council hereby finds and deter-
mines that the public convenience and necessity require the improvement
of the first alley south of Laurel Avenue between Second Avenue and
Wigwam Avenue by the grading, preparing subgrade, paving and construction
of concrete curbs, gutters and aprons and appurtenant work thereto, the
nature, location and extent of the proposed improvement and the district
to be assessed for the cost and expense thereof are shown respectively
on the profile and improvement plan No, 231, and specifications entitled
"Specifications and Contract Documents for Improvement of Alley South of
Laurel Avenue from Second Avenue West, Job No, 231"and assessment district
map No. w-68,
SECTION 2, That the said City Council hereby finds and deter-
mines further that the "Special Assessment Investigation, Limitation and
Ma'jori ty Protest Act of 1931" shall not apply to the making of said
improvement.
SECTION 3. That the said improvement shall be conducted under
the Improvement Act of 1911 which is Division 7 of the Streets and Highways
Code of the State of California, and the City Engineer and the City
Attorney hereby are instructed to present to the said City Council the
said Resolution of Intention required by said Improvement Act to initiate
the proceedings for the improvement,
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect,
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 18th day of December , 1956.
