RESOLUTION NO. 2851
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA;
AMENDING RULE IX; PARAGRAPH 3, OF
THE PERSONNEL RULES OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA.
WHEREAS, certain rules and regulations supplementing the
personnel system of the City of Arcadia were adopted on May 1,
1956, by Resolution No. 2769 entitled IIA RESOLUTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING RULES AND
REGULATIONS SUPPLEMENTING THE ARCADIA CITY CHARTER AND CITY ORDI-
NANCES CREATING THE PERSONNEL SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA AND
RESCINDING ALL PRIOR RULES AND REGULATIONS II; and,
WHEREAS, the Personnel Board, at a regular meeting, has
considered the problem of allowing an accumulation of continuous
service, whether temporary, probationary or regular, as credit
towards receiving additional vacation after ten years of service,
and has recommended to the City Council that Paragraph 3 of Rule
IX relating to leaves be amended to provide for such accumulation;
and,
WHEREAS, this Council believes the best interests of the
City of Arcadia and of its employees will be served by such amend-
ment of the rules and regulations;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the jlersonnel Rules and Regulations sup-
plementing the personnel system of the City of Arcadia as adopted
by Resolution No. 2769 aforesaid be and the same are hereby amended
by adding to Rule IX - LEAVES, Section 3 - Vacation Leave, a new
subsection (c) the same to read as follows:
(c) Any City employee who, after May I, 1956, shall
have been continuously employed by the City without inter-
ruption for a period of ten years shall be entitled to the

additional vacation provided in the preceding two para-
graphs. In computing such ten year period of employment,
all employment shall be considered, whether temporary,
probationary or permanent, and whether in one or more
positions or departments, so long as the employment was
without interruption.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
held on the
15th day of January
, 1957, by the affirmative
vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Jacobi, Phillips, Reibold and Camphouse
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman Dennis
