HomeMy WebLinkAbout2852 RESOLUTION NO. 2852 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING WORK TO BE DONE ON THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF LAUREL AVENUE BETWEEN SECOND AVENUE AND WIGWAM AVENUE IN ACCORDANCE WITH RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 2844. J8 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arcadia, on the 4th day of December, 1956, passed and adopted its Resolution of Intention, being Resolution No. 2844, to order the work described therein to be done, which said resolution of intention duly and legally was published as re- quired by law, and notice of said improvement has been given in the manner required by law and protests having been filed by the owners of the prop- erty to be assessed for said improvement prior to the time set in said resolution of intention for filing protests, and having been heard and overruled by the City Council: NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require, and the City Council of the City of Arcadia hereby orders the work des- cribed in said Resolution of Intention to be done, to wit: The improvement of the first alley south of Laurel Avenue between Second Avenue and Wigwam Avenue by the grading, preparing subgrade, paving and construction of con- crete curbs, gutters and aprons, and pertinent work thereto, all within the City of Arcadia. SECTION 2. The City Clerk hereby is directed to post a notice for five days on or near the door of the Council Chamber of the City Hall inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the work ordered and referring to the specifications on file and to publish a notice inviting such pro- posals for two days in the Arcadi& Tribune and Arcadia News, a newspaper published and circulated in the City of Arcadia, the first of which publications shall be not less than ten days before the date said bids are to be opened. SECTION 3. Reference hereby is made to said Resolution of Intention for a description of the work, the assessment district, the ''''o~ bonds to be issued and for further particulars. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of January, 1957.
