ORDERING THE FORMATION OF A LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT, DESIGNATED, AS "LIGHTING MAINTENANCE' DISTRICT NO. n", TO PAY THE COSTS AND EXPENSES FOR THE, lo1AINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF A STREET LIGHTING SYSTEM ON PORTIONS OF BEVERLY DRIVE,; ROSEMARIE DRIVE, BURNELL OAKS LANE,; SIXTH AVENUE. FLORENCE AVENUE,; FOOTHILL BOULEVARD, ALSTER AVENUE,; SHARON ROAD,; WISTARIA AVENUE, ENCINO AVENUE. LAS FLORES AVENUE, OAK GLEN AVENUE. WILSON AVENUE,; DOSHIER AVENUE,; SYCAMORE AVENUE,; ALTA OAKS DRIVE. HIGHLAND OAKS AVENUE,; DANntERE AVENUE AND GRANDVIEW AVENUE IN SAID CITY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA. CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY DETERMINE, ORDER, FIND AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to the provisions of Resolution of Intention No. 2842. passed, approved and adopted December 18, 1956, and after a public hearing on the matter in conformance with the provisions of the MuniCipal Lighting Maintenance District Act of 1927, being Division 14, Part 3, of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, it is hereby ordered that a light- ing maintenance district be and the same is hereby formed and that the boundaries of such lighting maintenance district. which district is to pay the cost and expenses for the maintenance and operation of a street lighting system on portions of Beverly Drive, Rosemarie Drive, Burnell Oaks Lane, Sixth Avenue, Florence Avenue. Foothill Boulevard, Alster Avenue, Sharon Road, Wistaria Avenue, Encino Ave- nue, Las Flores Avenue. Oak Glen Avenue, Wilson Avenue, Doshier Avenue, Sycamore Avenue, Alta Oaks Drive. Highland Oaks Avenue. Danimere Avenue and Grandview Avenue in said city, over and above the fifty percent (40%) of the total maintenance and operation costs and expenses thereof to be paid out of the treasury of the City of Arcadia from the general fund of said City, shall be and the same -1- 2855 rNI)~J:i\ are hereby finally established in conformance with and shown on that certain map entitled "Diagram of Lighting Maintenance Dis- trict No. 11". heretofore prepared by the City Engineer and ap- proved and adopted by Resolution No. 2841 of the City Council of the City of Arcadia on December 18. 1956. and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City. That the boundaries of said Light- ing Maintenance District No. 11 and the properties included therein are defined. bounded and described as follows: Parcel 11-1 (Sheet 46) Beginni~ at the northeast corner of Lot 11. Tract No. 20642. as per map recorded in Book 599. pages 77 and 78. of maps recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County. thence southerly. westerly and northerly along the vari- ous courses and distances of the boundary of said tract to the northwest corner of Lot 1 of said Tract; thence northerly along the northerly pro- longation of the westerly line of said tract to the center line of Foothill Boulevard. 80 feet wide; thence easterly along said center line to the northerly prolongation of the easterly line of said tract; thence southerly along the northerly prolongation of the easterly line of said tract to the point of beginning. Parcel 11-2 (Sheet 22) Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 16. Tract No. 22498. as per map recorded in Book 600. pages 38 and 39. of maps recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County. thence easter- ly along the northerly line of said tract to the northeasterly corner of Lot 9; thence southerly. westerly and southwesterly along the easterly line of said tract to the southeasterly corner of Lot 4 of said tract; thence westerly along the southerly line of said tract to the southwesterly corner of Lot 1; thence westerly along the westerly prolonga- tion of the southerly line of said tract to the center line of Sixth Avenue. 60 feet wide; thence northerly along said center line to an intersection with the westerly prolongation of the northerly line of said tract; thence easterly along said prolongation to the point of beginning. Parcel 11-3 (Sheet 6) Beginning at the point of intersection of the westerly line of Holly Avenue. 60 feet wide. with the southerly line of Sharon Road. 60 feet wide; thence southerly along the westerly line of Holly Avenue 105 feet; thence westerly parallel with the southerly line of Sharon Road to a point in the -2- 2855 ......I:At;U ~ easterly line of Lot 17, Tract No. 215824 as per map recorded in Book 605. pages 13 and 1 , of maps recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County; thence southerly 65 feet to the southeast corner of said Lot 17; thence west- erly, northerly, easterly and southerly along the boundary of said Tract No. 21582 to the point of beginning. Parcel 11-4 (Sheet 7) Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 19, Tract No. 21924, as per map recorded in Book 594, pages 73 and 74, of Maps recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County; thence easterly, northerly and southerly along the vari- ous courses and distances of the boundary of said tract to the northeast corner of Lot 23 of said tract; thence northerly along the northerly pro- longation of the easterly line of said Lot 23 to a point of intersection with the westerly pro- longation of the northerly line of Lot 24 of said Tract; thence easterly along the last mentioned prolongation to the northwest corner of said Lot 24, thence easterly, southerly, westerly and northerly along the various courses and distances of the boundary of said tract to the point of beginning. Parcel 11-5 (Sheet 22) Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot I, Tract No. 19107, as per map recorded in Book 595. pages 70 and 71, of maps recorded in the office of the recorder of Los Angeles County, thence northwesterly, northerly. easterly, southerly and southwesterly along the various courses and dis- tances of the boundary of said tract. to the southwest corner of Lot 13, being a point on the easterly line of Oakglen Avenue, 60 feet wide; thence southeasterly along said easterly line to the point of beginning of a curve concave to the northeast and having a radius of 30 feet; thence South 19053'33" East 52.95 feet to the center line of Sycamore Avenue; thence westerly along said center line to an intersection with the southerly prolongation of the westerly line of Lot 1 of said tract; thence northwesterly along last mentioned prolongation to point of beginning. Parcel 11-6 (Sheets Nos. 34, 35 and 36) Beginning at the most westerly corner of Lot 80, Tract No. 15285, as per map recorded in Book 410. pages 30 and 31. of Maps, in the office of the recorder of Los Angeles County; thence northeasterly along the northwesterly line of said Lot 80, 62 feet; thence northwesterly. northerly, easterly and southerly along the bound- ary of said Tract No. 15285 to the most southerly corner of said Lot 80; thence northwesterly along -3- 2855 the southwesterly line of said Lot 80 to the point of beginning. Parcel 11-7 (Sheet 24) Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 1 Tract No. 18241. as per map recorded in Book 58~. pages 17 and 18. of Maps in the office of the Re- corder of Los Angeles County. thence southerly. easterly. westerly and southerly to the southeast corner of Lot 13 of said tract; thence westerly, northerly and westerly along the southerly bound- ary line of said tract to the southwest corner of Lot 14 of said tract; thence norbherly. easterly. westerly and northerly along the boundary line of said tract to the northwest corner of Lot 24 of said tract; thence westerly to the southwest cor- ner of Lot 6. Tract No. 17765. as per map recorded in Book 452. page 45. of Maps. in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County; thence north- erly along the westerly boundary of said Tract No. 17765 to the northwest corner of Lot 5 of said tract; thence easterly along the northerly bound- ary of said ~ract No. 17765 to the northeast cor- ner of Lot 4 of said Tract No. 17765; thence southerly along the easterly line of said Lot 4 and along the southerly prolongation of said easterly line to the northerly line of Lot 1. Tract No. 18241; thence easterly along the north- erly line of said Lot 1 to the point of beginning. SECTION 2. That the items of expense of maintenance and operation of the aforesaid street lighting system agreed to be furnished and the estimated cost thereof for the first year. com- mencing :'. May. 23. 1957. are as follows: electric power. repairs. replacements. maintenance. labor. materials. engineering. printing and advertising; that the estimated amount of electric power neces- sary for said system for each year is twenty-two thousand nine hun- dred one (22.901) kilowatt hours and the estimated cost of said electric power for the first year of maintenance and operation is the sum of One thousand four hundred sixty-five dollars and forty- two cents ($1.465.42). SECTION 3. That the percentage of the total expenses of the aforesaid ma.intenance and operation to be paid by the aforesaid district. as set forth in aforesaid Resolution No. 2842 of the City Council of the City of Arcadia. shall be paid by special assessment taxes levied upon all lands. exclusive of improvements. within said district as hereinabove formed and established. -4- 2855 SECTION 4. That fifty per cent (50%) of the total ex- penses of maintenance and operation in said district shall be paid out of the treasury of the City of Arcadia from the general fund of said city and the remainder of the total expenses of maintenance and operation in said district shall be paid by such district. SECTION 5. That a certified copy of this Resolution shall be filed with the Assessor who makes the assessments for gen- eral city taxes, and thereafter the Assessor in making up the city assessment roll shall segregate the property included within the district hereby formed on the assessment roll under the district designation contained in the resolution, to wit: "Lighting Mainte- nance District No. 11". SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted adjourned at a regular/meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the ~2nd day of Ja.nuary I 1957, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Jacobi, Phillips.
