HomeMy WebLinkAbout2865 RESOLUTION NO. 2865 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA. CALIFORNIA, GRANTING CONSENT. PURSUANT TO SECTION 35304.5 OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE, TO THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF PASADENA OF A PORTION OF MICHILLINDA BOULEVARD. ~rnEREAS, the City of Pasadena proposes to annex to said city the property hereinafter described; and, WHEREAS, said property is presently included within the City of Sierra Madre; and, WHEREAS, the City of Sierra Madre, by Resolution No. 1485 of its City Council adopted on the 8th day of January, 1957, has consented to the detachment of said territory and to the proposed annexation thereof to the City of Pasadena; and, WHEREAS. said territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Pasadena con~rises a street, highway or road situated within three miles of the boundary of the City of Arcadia; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the consent of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, being the legislative body of the City of Arcadia, be and the same is hereby given and granted for the annexation to the City of Pasadena of that portion of Michillinda Boulevard and Michillinda Avenue and of the territory described as follows: That portion of Michillinda Boulevard and of Michillinda Avenue, in the City of Sierra Madre, County of Los Angeles, state of California, described as follows: A strip of land fifteen (15) feet in width, lying easterly of and contiguous to that por- tion of the present easterly boundary line of the City of Pasadena. described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the said present easterly boundary line of the City of Pasadena in Michillinda Boulevard with the northeasterly line of the Santa Anita R:ncho, as per map re- corded in Book I, pages 97 and 98, of Patents, Records of Los Angeles County; thence southerly -1- 2865 INDIiIlEo along said present easterly boundary line to the southerly boundary line of the City of Sierra Madre in Michillinda Avenue. The above mentioned strip of land, fifteen (15) feet in width, is bounded on the north by the said northeasterly line of the Santa Anita Rancho and on the south by the said southerly boundary of the City of Sierra Madre. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof to be forwarded to the City of Pasadena. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held on the 5th day of February, 1957, by the affil~ative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Jacobi, Dennis, Phillips, Reibold and Camp house NOES: None ABSENT: None c~f?; ih~, of Arcadia SIGNED AND APPROVED this 5th 1957.
